Error 404 needs a redirect !

I released my new website yesterday and have had a large amount of people getting 404s from bookmarked pages that no longer exist.

I have the ability to customize my 404 page.
It is a .shtml file.

Is it possible to add a snippet of code to the 404 page to auto redirect my users to default.php?

If so, How?

I didn't use that one but it smacked me in the face and reminded me of a meta tag that some other Jerk on the forum gave me the other day.

<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="4; URL=/shop/default.php">

It even works..

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. The meta tag refresh is old school.

Eddy, I though you might want to know that your CD & DVD media section is blank. I was going to try that CDR media you suggested. I saw it listed the other day. Should have just placed the order then.
