I have 5-6 Engines that are in need of rebuilds and some misc parts,--.12 to 2.5.,O.S and Traxxas. Is there a good web-site for this?-Thanks-Ray.

tower has alot of rebuild stuff and your lhs prolly caries quite a few

yeah tower carries a lot of stuff for those engines, and there are a lot of retailers on ebay, but sometimes I find better prices at tower. Debbie's RC world is my favorite retailer to buy from on ebay, I don't know if they carry the specific parts that you need or not.

good luck finding the OS parts on tower. i have 2 OS engines needing a fresh piston/sleeve both .15s a cv and a cvr. i looked all over for the parts without any luck. finally found a p/s for the cv on ebay for $30. waiting for someone to sell one for the cvr.

www.tiltedrc.com for the os, it's possible Homer might be able to get you Traxxas stuff. Traxxas does have an engine exchange program but I never used it so I don't know if your engine will fall into that category or not. www.amainhobbies.com may have both the OS and Traxxas parts. Tower, pfffft!

Just be careful with the engine exchange program. I know if you trade in the 2.5 for a 3.3, they want 120 bucks and your old motor. But if you buy a new 3.3, it's only 140 bucks, then you have a spare motor or you can sell it on ebay for a decent price.

The easiest way to find the part numbers for the OS engines is to go to OS' site and pull the manual (if you don't have it). The manual will list the part numbers. Then run a search by the number.

Towers' search engine seems to like part numbers more than terms.

http://nitrohouse.com had parts for my Picco that I couldn't find anywhere else. You could try there.
that's because Ofna is the importer and Ofna owns nitrohouse and MD Planes, they are all in the same building in Irvine.

I know a p/s for a 2.5R used to run about $60, add to that a rod for another $20. You're into a rebuild for about $80+ so far. That's given the bearings are good and the carb seals are good too. For about $40 more you're getting a brand new motor doing the trade in. A used up 2.5 isn't going to bring squat especially if you have to unload it on eBay and then you get the fees added to it you'd be lucky to walk away with $10 in your pocket. IMO rebuilding a Traxxas motor is a waste of money.

I'm with JetMech on this one. At most, get your sleeves pinched for around $20 if the engine is still ok otherwise. But rebuilding a $120 engine of any brand just isn't very cost effective.

A pinch and seal kit is about as far as I'd go with any of those you listed. Then your in for about $30 to get a few more gallons through them.

Thank's for the help!-It looks like a new motor for the Trx is the way to go.
here is another spin--Is there any other brands that can be interchanged with the TRX's-like O.S P and S's??-Thanks-Ray
