I am a newbie to r/c nitro engines. i have been seeing a few pics of engines with what looks like tie straps on them . i am just wondering what was the purpose of them

Good question, I have wondered the same thing myself..........guys? Whats with the zip ties on top of the heat sink??

You put them on there so if the car flips over without the body on the head dosent get all scratched up...

Cool, now I know........and just learned something new, thanks to the educational forums at RCNT!!

yes, they are very important especially when ur head is big like mine. they have helped me out so much!!!

cool, I am getting my savage ss friday so looks like another thing i will go buy for it.

:preachin: It's cheap insurance. When you roll your ride over it protects the head from getting scratched/damaged. I've rolled many times over on pavement, and all I've came out with so far is a bunch of messed up zip ties

Just make sure that you use the thickest zips you can fit. They grind off damn fast on concrete.

Or you could stop rolling the vehicle on it's lid.

(i prefer the zip tie method.)
