So I was shopping esc for various different applications. I understand the benefits of using a pair of 2s batteries to make 4s. But ...

This esc has outputs for 2 brushed motors. If this can power say 2 540s, is there anything to be gained soldering both sets of wires to 1 540? Just a modest increase by effectively doubling the wire g.? Maybe something more? Maybe an exciting puff of smoke?
I have not ordered 1 to find out. If I thought there was a reason it might be worth doing though...

The motor is the dictator of what is drawn from the battery source, the ESC is just controlling the motor’s voltage percentage signaled from the transmitter/receiver.

2 controllers are essentially going to just tell the motor what to do the same way a single ESC would.

Now 2 motors on 1 ESC was common before brushless power evolved… Traxxas had a vintage monster truck as I’m sure others did for the “wow” factor. Fun Fact: Ram just came out with a 777hp SRT TRX…

Gotcha , thank you

Yeah like a 775 titan. Or robotics motors with a capacitor. Robotics motors are incredibly powerful. For torque. If you want a heavy brushed unit. And a 12v brushed motor tends to be fine with being over volted in bursts. So a 12v brushed is fine for 4S intermittent power.

As for the technical if you parallel 2 motors you pull equal voltage and maximum amps. If you series them is will share the load. So your 27t motors would act like a 54t and you could cram in more voltage. Parallel is the ideal setup however. I use a 4S with a pair of 12t titans. It works just fine. But just bashing a trail truck.

Big, lots of torque.....makes a pulling truck sound like a good time.

I seem to always be drawn to rigs with no local competition available....

Oh yeah cram a DeWalt 775 or maybe a Mabuchi 775. I check the Robotshop but there is a lot more options now. Some of those can easily handle 30 volts or more. Industrial motors sometimes also. Some of my favorite were Banebots 550 cans. Indestructible. Salt water was nothing to them.

Is that your build? Id love to see more on it. I've wanted to build something like that for a couple years. I've got a chassis i think would suite it well currently collecting dust.

Not mine....once this thread started going somewhere interesting I grabbed a pic online. It was part of a worth point ad

You see the 1000hp Silverado ---

2wd is a toy grade truck, hobby grade trucks have 4 doors and 4 wheel drive. 😊

My Ram makes just under 600 hp and is useless without all 4 wheels spinning unless you’re at a prepped track with a set of slicks. It does look badass though 👍🏼

The secret to 600 HP is to put it into an old dentside and make it borderline undriveable. But 3 MPG ain't bad.

That’s the thing, I can get 20mph unloaded cruising the highway on just the motor. 👌🏽

Not to mention paying the sports car insurance rates these new $100k+ super trucks have.
