I'd Like to move from Electric to nitro, but would like to save in the process. Can I just buy the nitro car and get some compatable servos to my remote and put them in the nitro car? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just would rather stick and save with just one radio. If so, any limitations?

Well, are you planning on using the electronics from the electric? Or are you planning on having two cars in running order?

If you say yes to the first question, you'll need to buy one more servo and a battery pack

If yes to the second one, then you'll need to buy a receiver with the same frequency as your radio, as well as two servos and a battery pack.

But it'll be cheaper if you just want to start out to just get a RTR. Things add up really fast. And if you're trying to use your own radio gear, that means you'll be buying a kit and an engine. So it'll equal a RTR anyhow

My RTR XTM X-cellerator was 260 out the door ready to run, you can get them for near $220 now, that pretty cheap for gettting in, especially with such a nice handling rig
