HI
if i wanted to put a new motor wood it be as simple as taking out the old motor and then whacking in the new one or r there other parts i need to get for it to fit properly ????

What rig? As long as the motor is the same size (physical) then typically its that easy. Prolly not in all cases though.
 
it should be the same becaause my old motor is a 540 and the guy i bought the motor off of sed it is bout the same size as a 540 so it should also if i get i new motor should i get a knew esc ???
 
It depends on which motor it is.
 
Is the new motor brushless or brushed and is the old motor brushed or brushless? A brushed motor has 2 leads, a positive and a negative (red and black). A brushless has 3.

If both are the same type and if they are physically the same, then you should be good to go.
 
also, you need to get a motor that the esc you have can handle. If the stock motor is say 20t, you need to stay 20t or above.
 
but what would happen if it was any lower ?????

t = turns. You go lower, you could fry your ESC. the lower the turn, the higher the speed/higher voltage draw. ESC's are rated for certain turn motors.
 
That's why some esc's are $30 and some are $200. The higher the voltage they can handle, the heavier duty they have to be built. More/better materials=more money. You get what you pay for in this department. It's always better to go overkill with the esc. That way it doesn't get stressed(hot) doing what you want it to do.
 
the link for the esc you posted appears to be one for an airplane. I'm not familiar with em, not sure if it would work correctly for surface based.
