got this in a e-mail... and want to spread it to you guy....... :spit:

I have seen a lot of these floating around. I guess the idea is well intended, but pretty much unefective. I wish stuff like this would work tho.

Read this:

or this:

Maybe they will help explain that this is complete BULLSHIT! If people would read little they would know this is just a frickin bullshit chain letter that has been floating around since Al Gore invented the internet. If I had a nickle for everyone of these I got in my inbox I could retire a very wealthy individual. I have e-mailed just about everyone in my address book and told them the next one to send it to me is going to get a broken nose if I'm nice, two broken legs if I'm not having a good day. Today is not at all a good day, so I'm a little pissed off right now and unfortunately I'm venting on you.

Before you go bashing him for his thoughts, keep in mind- It COULD work. it would take much more than an unsolicited email to a few hundred people, But it is simple supply and demand. It is a very plausible issue, just not in the context it was given.

just read the three websites, they go in to detail how this won't work. they are not his thoughts it's been passed around since 99 or maybe or maybe before then. sorry my day is going down hill fast and becoming more and more irritated

Yes, it is simple supply and demand. But think of a few things here. First off, if everyone doesn't buy their gas on one day, they will all go buy it the next. Therefore, it's a wash. Yes, we purchase a lot of gas in one day nationwide. And yes, not buying gas for one day will put a big dip in the books. But there will be a spike in those books 1-2 days later. The simple fact is that we will buy gas until another source of fuel is found. The only way we can send the message to the oil companies is to not use oil at all. Until we are able to break our dependency on oil, there is little we can do. Yes, we can lessen demand. By using more efficient vehicles. Driving slower. Driving less often. That will lower demand which should lower prices a bit. But the reality is that I don't expect to ever see gas below $2.00 a gallon again. It will fall below $3.00 at some point, but I'm sure it's going to hover closer to $2.50 at best. The sad fact is that without oil, our country would grind to a halt. It is the one thing that this entire nation depends on. Not gold. Not real estate. Oil. If all the oil was suddenly gone, we'd be so screwed. And in the last 100 years, there has been little done to break our dependency on it. Yes, cars are a bit more efficient. But we're driving longer distances. We try to harness the power of the wind. But then we get tree-huggers who whine because they don't want the windmills to alter the ecosystem or pretentious idiots who call the windmills an "eyesore" and dont' want them in their view. Solar power is feasible, but no one is making it affordable. The bottom line is that there are no serious efforts to reduce our dependency on oil. Compressed natural gas vehicles? They work. But you and I can't buy them. Hydrogen fuel cell? They work. But does anyone make a commercially available car with that technology? Is anyone setting up service stations that can work with CNG or Hydrogen? Not in my city. It's funny because we all complain about gas and oil and heating oil and all that. But who's doing anything about it? Not the government. Not GM. Not Ford. Not Chrysler. So the bottom line is this. We have to have oil to survive. And because of that, the people who have the oil know they can charge a ton for it. I heard on the news the other day that it takes about $4 a barrel to get the oil out of the ground. So why do they sell it for $70 a barrel? Because they can.

Actually Ford is coming out with the Model U which is very friendly to the ecosystem. Check it out.

It runs off of solidified hydrogen and is made mostly of soy.

I'm buying one of these ASAP

I really believe H is the future for automobiles. My company just built their second Hydrogen liquefaction plant. It's in Germany but at least the ball is rolling. It's mainly for superconductors and things of the sort but they figure output will be double what there projected beginning output will be.

Sorry for the cynicism, but the only way to really hurt them is to show them that we don't need oil anymore.

you are too young to remember his claim of inventing the internet......

But he DID invent the internet, and Clinton did NOT have sexual relations with 'that' woman.

Yeah and GWB isn't really a puppet to the oil companies that laugh when these "day strikes" are being coordinated.....they laugh at this stuff....now if we all started riding bicycles I bet we'd be hearing about snipers killing random cyclists on their way to work.....

at lest with the bicycles you wont cut any 1 off .. on the highway ..lol

I don't need those....I need RE-TRAINING wheels....maybe I'll learn to ride right this time....
