Does this seem like a scam or what?

I never said I was buying any of that crap. I was merely pointing out the scam of waiting for people's domain names to expire then steal them legally as soon as they do. And people are paying for someone to do this.

Steal them? How exactly can you still something that becomes free domain after it expires? Kind of like the penny tray at the gas station, taking a penny out of it for change isn't stealing. How is registering a domain after it's expired and free for the taking of anyone stealing?

Error, BTW I use GoDaddy with 4 out of 5 domains I have and havn't had a single problem with GD.

Maybe stealing is a little harsh. I know it's perfectly legal it just doesn't sit well with me doing something like that.

Woodie, are you domains reg'd there , or are you hosting there? Most of the sites I've seen that were hosted there kind of sucked, popups and ads. Just MO.

hmm no, I don't have any sites hosted there. Only registered with GD.

The site is hosted on a private semi-dedicated server.

thank you so much EP, one of my domains was set to expire today. I was reminded about 15 days ago but forgot. I just got it in time, 3 hours before ti would have been gone. Thanks again.

GoDaddy sends out a few reminders for me when it's getting close to expire, and even if I don't renew it right away they hold the domain a few weeks after just in case. They also have a nice feature that auto-renews the domains for me, since they started that I don't worry about re-newing every again.

That's a sweet feature. I paid in advance for ten years. I'm sure I'll forget to renew when the time comes.
