Does it matter?

I was wondering, I bought some wires from Radioshack to find that they were speaker wires. It was 18 gauge wires, these were the ones I got:

Would it be able to use these for my RC applications, or are they pretty much to small to be used on these and only for speakers?

What are you intending to wire with it? The only thing I would even contemplate using 18ga on would be receiver packs.

I thought it would work good for connecting some cells, but never mind. I have another question. Is there a limit to what gauge wire to use on any application (Like using 12ga wire on a small application, maybe something like on servo wiring.)?

Well, with servo wires you really don't need anything bigger than what you normally see. However, I've always changed my micro ESC's over to a larger gauge wire. In this scenario there really is no upper limit. Of course, heavier wire is just that... heavier, but aside from that it's ok. I've had a couple Novak Spy's in which I had removed the small leads and replaced them with 14ga wire. I had to whittle down the ends of the leads after I tinned them but it all worked out. I don't know if the smaller wires hinder peformance but I imagine that there MAY be a slight gain if one was running a low turn motor with higher discharge rate cells like IB1400's or something of the like.
