Do your r/c pockets have holes in them too?

Wow, looks like I'm not the only one that has holes in his pocket!

Thanks for the offer Ratzo, but I think I'll give my T-fource one more season. I was originally looking at the Xray F1TK05 touring sedan but saw a Corally RDX run for the first time 2 weeks ago and it was so quiet and smooth. It took a beating as well! Now sl0eg1n has filled my head with getting it ... this is worse than peer pressure as a teenager! Hmmm, F1TK05 at $350 or the RDX for $429ish ... decisions decisions!

this year i have bought the following for my XRay FK05. i am not going to include the kit price because my sponsor bought it for me but it was bought for $350. this was the only major kit i have been spending stuff for.

totaling $1900
spare parts for the season
4 - 6 cell battery packs
4- 19T motors
indy zero-thirty equalizing discharger
KO 2363 servo
KO vfs-1 speedo
extra receiver
comm lathe and accessories
BMI chassis

consumables for outdoor electric season (tires, brushes, bodies) = $300

I bit the big one this year when I took on Electric.
CE Charger
Lathe
Soldering iron
5 sets of Batteries
2 Used TC3s
Tires
Discharger
Power Supply
Setup guages
Motors
The list goes on........
Holes in my RC pocket would be great, At this point there isnt even a lining to have holes.

Its endless. If I kept track I would most likely take up knitting or needle point.

And that's just for the electric.

fast eddy didn't you just buy a FT TC4 recently cause i didn't se it on your list. lol
tell us how it is aswell. I'm sure we all want to know.

Uh oh, guys, you're all starting to worry me.... I've spent close to $2000 on flashlights since the middle of April (see Candlepowerforums.com for explanation), and I was hoping to tone done my spending.

After seeing the kind of dough you all are spending on this, it looks like I'm about to take up the wrong new hobby....(Jato's off of lay-away in a couple of weeks!)

Welcome to the addiction and financial insecurity ... lol

I dunno about he rest, but myself and sl0eg1n (we're brothers) kinda fuel each others r/c addiction. Also doesn't help that we race pretty much all year round. Racing brings a lot of broken parts and opens your eyes to more candy behind the counter ... literally!

Ever watch old reruns of the show "Cheers?" Well, they greet us like Norm and we head straight behind the counter at the LHS like Norm goes for beer.

No I didnt get one. I just made a post that they are available now. I'm perfectly happy (For Now) with my TC3s

Incorrect figure.

I didn't know that everything was included. I thought it was only the things needed to KEEP them running.

I added up the invoices from everything.
$3,751.27 :OMG:

Everything.

Also keep in mind that in the past seven months I've owned 21 r/cs.

I've took it pretty easy on the rc's this year. Since I sold my Maxx and Got my savage, I didnt have to do alot of the mods for the performance I was looking for. But then I did buy a onroad and got a new plane. On ground rc's Id say around $1200 and in air, Id say about $900 or so. Rc expenses still dont hold a candle to dirtbike expenses.. (not hard to see why I'm not married now..lol)

Damn, I thought I was on the low side of this but I saw my LHS total since last july when I started back in this hobby.....I'm over 5300 so far.....and that's not counting about 1500 in local deals I've made....BUT I have sold well into 3000 of that and gotten some of it back......I had a small shock when I saw the computer screen at my shop.....at least I know why they treat me so well.....and this reminds me, I need to go to the LHS now for more fuel and glow plugs.....F'ing mony pit hobby

tell em you want more of a discount now.

our local track gives discount depending on how much buisness you do there, and how much you help out the owner. i get 10% off marked prices, jeff gets a certain amount, and the guys that have shopped there for decades, or work on the track every week, get up to 40% off the marked prices. those are the guys that get $30/gallon fuel for under $20 with tax. if you support him, he takes care of you.

That's pretty much like my LHS. Everyone get's a standard low price butthose that go in there regularly get at least an 11-15% discount. If you're there by referal from a regular (like myself and sl0eg1n) you will get a bigger discount.

Those that have been in there since day one and/or a racing buddy that has been racing with them for a while will get things at cost. Sl0eg1n and I have been racing with them for a while now as well as sending a lot of business their way via referals and out of state orders from here on RCNT as well as other places so we get our fuel (30% Byrons) for $20 as well as first dibs on new things on the market at cost.

It's good to be in good with the owner and his wife (the key to great prices).

Our LHS has good prices as it stands but above all, they are fellow racers that came together and know what it's like to get beat over the head with prices. Only quality stuff is really sold at our LHS. They carry the highend on-road kits/parts but also cater to the MT and buggy guys. If you want HPI, you're stuff will be hit or miss. Only the popular stuff used by thepark bashers will be in there. If not, they can usually get it within 2 days and it won't be sold to anyone else, unlike other LHS's that don't really care as long as the item is sold.

Oh I do get the price break for sure.....I get those RG engines for about 90 whenever I feel like going psycho basher......I get 25% maxy's for just under/over 20.......they treat me well and I send them all the business I can...although I do need to start being more selective about who I send there....ever send someone to a shop and tell em to say you sent them blah blah blah...then they just ask some of the STUPIDEST questions and waste their time and not buy anything????I caught hell for one customer like that.....like Diver's shop southeast only carries top shelf items.....EXCEPT the XB8 parts.....but they have all kinds of RC stuff in stock all the time....big on aircraft their as well.....it's crazy to see a hobby shop receipt for 10000 for the heli guys.....We thought our stuff was expensive

I've put in just a little over $1300 this year but I've added a RC18MT and a Goliath to my completely rebuilt Savage. I will probably double my spending since I just started hanging out at the local track. Damn buggies had to get me hooked on the hobby, again!

ummm... scary thing is that I don't think you put an extra zero in there
I'm only about 1500 into the hobby, but I have to admit I made some STUPID noobie mistakes, and sorta kinda got scammed on one of the things I bought but it has been a lot of fun doing this, just haven't had ANY time with school and work, but I have gotten to work on them, and thats just a much fun for me :hammer: I guess I have to look on the bright side of things

I've spent maybe $200 total this year. Just plain lost interest. For over a month, the .21 RS4 2 has been needing a $1 part, and I have yet to buy it. I'm just too lazy to goto the hobby shop.
