Hey Everyone

I finally got my Ofna 9.5pro running great:banana: I really want to run this thing today!!! But it's raining, not a hard rain. More like sprinkling. The ground is soaked.

I have the rx box all sealed up. The servos are still exposed though.

My question is: would you and do you run in the slop?

Thanks
Stan

As long as your not submersing it, you should be OK.. The servos & receiver are your biggest concerns. There are plenty of waterproofing threads on RCNT for you to read. Use the SEARCH to find them.
If you do take it out, make sure you dry it off really good.. (Towel/Hair Dryer/compressor)
If your looking to run in these conditions regularly, you could go with a
water/dust proof servo...

Although it is very entertaining to sling mud I find the labor of cleanup too much of a PITA to justify it. But thats just my opinion

Hell no I can't afford it!! I just dropped 250 on a DSM about a month ago!!

No submersing here just a wet back yard. Thats why I couldnt find much. I didnt use waterproofing! I have a compressor and a case of nitro blast for the cleaning. I dont regularly run in these conditions. Its just that now I finally got me a buggy and it FLY's WOW This thing is fast. I just wanna run it! I thought that I seen in past magazine articles that they have raced in the slop before. But since I am getting older I just dont remember:dumb:

Thanks for the input:redbuggy:

i run in the mist. its fun and scary at the same time. i can do some bootleg drifting with my nmt. i just dont run when it rains heavy since my body has 2 holes in the front and rear window and my electronics arent protected.

I've run my MT2 in a mist, and it sure does get messy when the road turns to mud and the mud ends up inside the truck.

I coat my servo's in liquid electrical tape.
I paint it on, let it dry, and pack around the gear, and under the servo horn with grease.
Then I put the liquid electric tape around my receiver box and around the spot where my charging jack comes out of the receiver box.
Works well for me.

Thanks for the replies everyone!!!

I tried it but it was a pain in the a$$. The wind was blowing and cold driving rain. was not worth it. I'll wait till tomorrow and go to the track. It supposed to be sunny and warmer!!

I once ran my Revo after it rained testing her out and ruined an EZ start motor. There wasn't really that much water on the ground but I guess the tires sprayed it all over the place.

If you want to run in the rain, get a SAVAGE! I run mine in snow and het it so i can't see hrdly anything but the motor. Heck, i can't even see the electronics box!!!!!! Heck yeah!
