If you are just planning to do stock racing for 13.5, id get the current stock spec g2 combo. Have that same one in mine but just with the previous G4 motor.

If your planning to run mod in the future, the new g3 pro combo would be good.

Just go with the current stock spec. Save yourself some money lol. Don't need the newest/latest/greatest. My uncle is still running a 8 yr old esc (Hobbywing v3.1 with a 6.5T G2 motor) in his and does just fine with other cars.

Not my soldering lol. It was a buddies soldering all the way down in south carolina, when my original esc took a dump on me and I had to buy this current stock spec at beach rc lol. Right before racing to. It sucked but we got it running right before racing that night lol.

need batteries, receiver, and servo
Receiver, you use a nb4 right? so self explanatory, just get a receiver for that.
Servo, I'm using like a 10 yr old servo in mine, I know its outdated but works for me, but most racers I seen like protek and nitro pro low profile servos.
Batteries, I'm using CNHL racing series packs and been serving me well for the past year. Used Maclan batteries in the past and those were great. Most local guys tend to use ProTek packs. My uncle personally likes SMC and ProMatchRacing. Really no right or wrong way to go. Just personal preference and budget.

And we all know @Littlemotor LOVES NitroPro 😁

my biggest thing is either way I need to learn to solder 😭

but after this will just need batteries, receiver, and servo
Do you have soldering equipment?
Go pick up some cheap wire and practice!!!
Soldering isn't hard and is exceptionally useful for all sorts of things!
Its not hard.
Just go slow.
Be aware of what the tip is touching at all times and you won't burn anything, including YOU!

Its not hard! If you can build a car like the one you just did, soldering should be NO problem!

Also don't leave the iron on to keep it warm. Thats the time youll grab it without looking and teach the neighbors some colorful words. 🤣🤣🫠

Yea. I started soldering last year. I got better overtime and practice. I do best soldering up wire to wire, and bare battery bullets and motor tabs. Haven't learned to solder plugs yet, well, I did do a couple of deans plugs for my Mini which turned out ok. Atleast they work lol.

Just don't be a me, and not paying attention, and then wondering why it smelt like chicken for a few seconds, yea burned the palm of my hand, wasn't that serious though, only a painful blister. 😅 😭

Its not going to effect the soldering job in any way but a good soldering station vs a good soldering iron and the station is def a bit safer!

It will affect the job if you burn your good hand. 🤣

i’m thinking of getting a more portable soldering iron for when I go to the track and I need something but at the same time I just want to get an iron on the cheaper side there’s no in between 🤣 I guess a cheaper one and make space for it in my hauler would work too though

that’s what I need is a station with holders for wiring the battery connection

I have servo and batteries picked out already too actually! I like my nitropro servo but I can’t find if they have a low profile one to use for 1/10th scale buggy they all seem to be bigger side for 8th scale, also just need to find some of the bullet connector caps that make it easier to remove that I see people use

They make those "helping hands" soldering jigs plus jigs for your specific plugs too.
They can be helpfful but you can start learning basics without all that.
i’ll have to take a look at amazon and see what’s there maybe find one on marketplace to save a few dollars if possible

that sounds painful
I helped her to the nurse's office.
I didn't even make her hold the doors open for me!
She was a trooper through the whole thing tho!
Back in class and taking a test the next day!

I'm a really nice guy actually. Just ask me!!! Why I could go on for DAYS about how wonderful I am...
Why just the other day I...

I can't open amazon links.
I'm not trying to know about this product. General statements seem to be like Amazon servos all come from the same 3 places. Its a question of what parts the cases are loaded with.
Def make a post about the servo and brand if you caan't find any comments about it already!
The ppl here have tested just about everything! 🤣

A girl in jr high school picked up her hot soldering iron just like a pencil.
So yah, she doesn't do that any more...
i wathced a girl torch a titanium banger, then try to pull said banger like it was a bowl.. i swear she melted her hand almost to the bone.. gruesome
