Next to my xbox, tv is probably my other winter "hobby" if you can call it that. I love my TiVo and we have a lot of shows that we've watched from the first season. One of my favorites is 24. For those that don't know 24 is a show based on a counter terrorism unit that protects the United States from terrorist attacks. The show covers a 24 hour period of time where each hour of the day is it's own episode.

Now for those that do watch it and follow it, I'd like to share my thoughts on this new season.

The biggest change is the cast. Thus we've only seen two (yes two) characters resurface from pervious seasons. Apparently the country has a new president and like real government adgencies, the staff of CTU has changed out. There are probably those that would say "this sucks". A lot of people we've grown to like and route for are now gone. I actually like it. The main character, Jack Bower, has been taken completely out of his element. How is the hero going to save the day when he doesn't have the help and support he did before from his friends in CTU or even the president? What makes it even better is Jack Bower isn't even a CTU agent anymore. He's left the life of field work to persue a life of his own.

This season, of course, has pulled Jack right back into the action as his new girlfriend and his boss (her dad) are kidnapped by terrorists. Because of jacks new position in this series of events, what he'd like to do and what he can do are two different things. That force has caused Jack to take some drastic measures including holding up a convience store in an attempt to stall one of his leads from leaving. The last episode I saw left Jack face down on the pavement as cops were putting on the cuffs. Intense stuff.

Even with all the changes to the characters, this looks like it's going to be yet another great season of 24. I can't wait until it records again. :)

I for one am a Tivo nut. But that is part of the problem. Becuase it is so easy to record with season passes and all the other cool TIvo functions... there is just now enough time in the day for everything. I watched an episode or 2 in the begining of the first season. It seemed like a cool concept but I could not devote anymore time to watching another series.

Yeah I have that problem too but I'm very careful with the priorities of my season passes. With 24, I use a wishlist so it's picked up on multiple channels. That way if one channel has a conflict, I can pick it up on the other channel, cause it plays twice a week here. (ok, ok, so I'm a @#$%ing TiVo nerd too) I'm not nerdy enough yet that I have two TiVos hooked up to the same TV, but I'm one step down.
