thats right I'am ditichin my slash for another sc10, I cannot believe the huge difference between the 2 of them it is like night/day...I found someone on a different forum that is going to trade me even up for his sc10 for my modded slash for his modded sc10.. it works out great for the both of us.. best of both world you can say....:thumbup1:

What do you like better about the sc10?

What I like better is it handles WAY better....the traxxas is based more off the stampede chassis and is more off the ground, unlike the SC10 which is based off the T4 chassis which has a lower center of gravity which the SC10 just hugs the ground, and I also seen and driven the blitz yesterday, the blitz with the top off almost looks just like the sc10, pretty much the same design...I was even waxing a blitz with a novax 3.5 Bl system with my 17T motor the Bl blitz would catch me in the straights but as soon as it would hit the jumps it would stop dead in it tracks cause the wheels would hit the body and stop right where it landed too funny...:p, the shocks were already leaking on the blitz after 10 mins from the shock caps, and the person had them as tight as they would go,and the tires also came unglued from the rear wheels:thumbup1:...I told him to call HPi to see if they would fix the shock issues..

I think I will stick with my SC10's:first_place:

the body is really LIME green not yellow.. I willtake some new pics today of what the body looks like now:p:p

and this is the list of goodies

here is what I got:

-Peak Racing Vantage Modified Single 12t Brushed Motor
-Proline Bowtie Tires
-Novak Rooster 12t Reversible w/LiPo Profiles
-Factory Team Billet Shocks
-Billet Motor Plate
-RPM Ball Cups
-Lungsford Titanium Turnbuckles
-LRP Blue Quick Servo
-Factory Team Anniversary Battery Tie Down
-RPM gear cover
-30* caster hubs

Just to clarify, those shocks are the RTR. The Factory Team are threaded body. You do have the FT shock caps, and functionally the RTR shocks work the same. Great deal though. I love my SC10s, just switched to a 10.5 in it and it rips now that I figured out the tires to run on our local clay track.

I really don't touch my Slash anymore...

Hpi gets my $$ next

Would you buy an HPI Firestorm over the AE T4? That is the question I would ask myself before I made that purchase. The SC10 is built on the 6-time National Championship winning T4 platform; What has the Firestorm won? I have seen a few of the HPI trucks out there and they seem to work ok, but my money goes to AE products here. Plus, most LHS stock all the parts for T4's and 90% of the parts are the same as the SC10. Just food for thought. Unless you buy spares of everything off the bat or don't mind waiting for your parts to come in the mail...

I just copied and pasted what the guys sent me that was in the truck, I think he meant shock caps..I also added Lundsford front axles 20* front caster hubs, racers edge 1 degree rear hubs...and also going to add the MIP cvd kit..

No sct would keep up with you using a 3.5! An 8.5 would give much lower lap times give or take a turn depending on track size.
My 3.5 is faster bashing but my 6.5 will beat it on any track.
As for going with the sc10 they do great but the slash seems to do just as well I went to a big race last weekend and a slash got the TQ and backed it up with 1st, sc10 took 2nd and 3rd. all were good drivers too bad there were no blitz or strike I have yet to see them run

How much of a beating will it take compared to a slash?

It is a 8.5 novak.. I typed it wrong.. and I'am still beating him, cause the Blitz cannot even make it a lap without something breaking on the damn truck:p:p we went out yesterday again, he has the rear arm plastic welded together till hpi sends him new ones HE HOPES..within 2 laps the rear wheels bearing failed again, and the gear cover came off, cause the motor plate is also stripped out, this is the 2nd one I seen like this right out of the box...another person @ our track brought 1 right out of the box and the gear cover fell right off the gear plate..

I'am telling you there is something major wrong with these, 2 of these @ our track with the same issues?I find it hard to believe, that there is not more people having problems.:confused:

well enough with the HPI and here is the promised pics

this is my new sc10

It really depends on the conditions and driver which one handles best, I have been SCT racing for a year now and the Slash and SC10 are pretty even as for survivability the slash is much tougher than the SC10. At our track the faster spec class truck turn faster times than the mod class:-)

he also stripped out the hexes in the proline wheels he bought:D, he is going to try and get new ones under warranty.. too funny..

How much of a beating will it take compared to a slash?

I've found the durability of the SC10 to be very good. The full size body and bumpers protect the rest of the truck very well. The chassis itself has a weak point just behind the front bulkhead, but the common things are front arms and the front bumper brace. Since march when I got mine I have broke 2 arms, 2 front bumper braces and one chassis. The chassis was me being stupid and trying to clear a huge triple race after race for 3 weekends of racing. Total cost maybe $35. Not too bad in my opinion, I broke a lot more on my T4 when I was racing it.

Nice ride! That's cool you found someone who wanted a modded slash, and had a modded SC10 for trade. Great coincidence there!

so you went from 30D caster blocks that were already on there down to 20d caster blocks? Just curious why and what was your result? I believe the stock RTR are 25...

yeah, also looks like you have stock RTR springs on there, silver front, green rear.

How do you like that battery strap? Was kind of looking at one, simply because the reg. one you can't slide the battery all the way back unless you do some serious dremel work to it... and even then, not really. Had to drill holes in mine for hard pack lipo too, so the bullets would fit. Not a hard mod though.

And how about that Servo? I'm not too familiar with that one... what do you think?
I just picked up an XP1313 and it is FAST. Have to dial it down a little on the propo!

oh, and what wheels are in the first pics, just curious?

the castor blocks are what came with the sc10.. and they are working great..the person had it setup that way for a reason? he was winning races he claims..

the servo is a hitec 645mg servo with just some decal on the top..and for the stock battery holder I still can use it on the stocker with my lipo pack that i posted earlier it fits perfectly without and issues.. the BLUE holder is only held there by the thumb screws and under the back.. shock tower mount..I have a team EA spring kit coming for front/rear..
