My clutch bell is discolored (see the attached pic). The gears that it connects to got a piece of dirt stuck in it that prevented it from turning. So it wouldn't drive forward when I tried to drive it and I think it may have burned it up. Has anyone seen this before and can you tell if I've ruined it and need to replace it?

Its normal blueing ,it will eventually turn that color with out any jamming!...:thumbs-up:

Since you have it off ,it would be a good idea to inspect the shoes ,an you can also take some sand paper
or emery cloth an scuff up the inside of the bell where the shoes contact!....

I do a hole modification to allow air in the bell to keep it cooler ,I drill tiny holes ,some clutch bells
can be bought already vented!

Here is the bell from my Baja ,it is larger but works the same!

BEFORE.

AFTER holes drilled!

Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to remove the clutch bell so I can inspect it?
