Hey everyone. I did some more damage to my xmaxx. I'm still a noob but I wanted to post a couple pictures here before I dove into it myself. What does this look like?

From what I can see with the pictures, looks like at least a broken left A-arm.

Looks to me the right arm isn't far from breaking as well. Order some HD arms and stop running into stuff

Welcome to RCT man.. WOW.. HOLLY crap!!! Where do you drive you X looks like in a mind field... Your asking whats broken I'm guessing I think... the front end I personally would definitely order a full set upper and lower of the traxxas HD A arms. And a extra set to have on hand so tou don't have to wait for parts. Just as @WickedFog said above. And a a front skid plate bumper from T-bone racing.. or just the full skid plate from them..And then I would stop driving the X on concrete. It's a offraod truck. That might be one of the reasons you keep breaking parts. What else have you broke. And how long have you had your X for ??

Thanks for the response. This is the first break I have had outside of a blown tire. I did have a gear come loose but that was no biggie.

One of the first things that jump right out at me is the fact you are running on concrete and blacktop. Judging by the chewed up undercarriage, I can see this being a non-stop problem. Other than a few speed runs if that's your thing, I would run her in dirt or grass.

Gotcha. Thanks for the advice everyone. I was a little too anxious to drive and took her to a parking lot with a field attached. I was going back and forth grass to concrete. Lesson learned!

Yeah, it's always fun to run on anything but unfortunately every run on the street will peel off layers of plastic. I ran one time and that was just a test and tune down the street and back, already noticed material being ground away.

I can see that. I guess I'll have to invest in an on road car to scratch those itches.

Thanks for the response. This is the first break I have had outside of a blown tire. I did have a gear come loose but that was no biggie.

That's good to hear it's the first and only. The X is a RC on its own level. Get some blue 242 loctite and use that on your grears. And only on screws that go into metal. Use it on your pinon, spur, and on the drive gears in the tranns.. The tires from the factory have a crap glue job on them. You can use super glue or get actual tire glue. Pro-line makes a good glue..just pinch back the edge of tire away from rim and put a little bend of glue under the tire bead..The X is really not made to be ran on the concrete/ pavement but If you want to drive the X on concrete/pavememt. I would get a set of road tires and adjust the ESC into training mode and it will cut the power to 50%. So it will help cut down on the beating and wear and tear on you undercarriage.. Also watch your temps on motor and esc running in the grass. To many speed runs and crap traxxas ESC will be toast.. or anywhere there is more resistance against the drive train... if you need anything or have more questions just post them up we are always around bud

Thanks a lot for this info. I'm always open to advice. I'm definitely going to TRY and keep it mostly off pavement. I actually put some glue on the stock tires after the factory stuff came loose. I ended up blowing it out later that day. I bought some blue loctite for next time any of those problem screws back out.

Well, that’s how it is. Wrenching and repairing is part of the fun. Fix it when you have to, upgrade when you can, and have fun out there.
And contrary to what you might have read above, run it anywhere you want. Concrete, blacktop, grass, dirt, mud, etc. you got an X-Maxx, man. Just learn how to drive on each surface and you’ll smoke most folks with lesser RC’s. You’ll figure it out pretty quickly, it’s a steep learning curve. . And to repeat, have fun. Welcome to the fray.
