I admit, I've been distracted with garden, green house, water damaged wall, brain damaged me...errr... 🙄 🥵
Busy my friends, I've been busy!!!
BUT not so busy that I've not been prepping.... 😉

I bought stuff! 😁

I bought a BUNCH of parts! And an '86 Ultima and '89(?) Turbo Optima SE. And more on the way!!!

For you youngsters out there...

Here's a vintage 2 chnl stick Futaba radio from same 89ish vintage.
Cool kids used to extend the sticks, get them chromed and put light up skulls on them! Or cool cobra heads!!! 😮

Ok, not really but... 🤣

This is my 1st Ultima. I plan to run it. Its not mint. Needs some love. Shocks are done, wrong anyway. Planning an eventual brushless install.

Turbo Optima Mid SE is a bit of a dream car for me. I intend to restore this one. I have most of the parts already. 😁
I think the springs are from a ClodBuster or something! Holy over sprung!!! Platinum shocks on custom diamond plate shock towers. 😮🤔🤣 I have the FRP stuff to replace it with once the shocks and springs are sorted.
I think the ball diffs are fried... we'll see.
I got full electronics with this one so I''ll be running this one 'stock', vintage, brushed... to start at least. 😎

Those 4 stacked wheels are the correct color yellow wheels for the SE for anyone who cares. 🤣😁

I bought bearings and hardware and a bunch of other stuff I'm not going to take pics of right now because its 95° still. 🥵🤣

Nice plan!

I have done something similar, I bought a few kits to keep me occupied this winter, once I'm no longer gainfully employed.
Thanks!!! Its not really a plan so much as luck.
I found these cars on ebay, made offers and was lucky enough to buy them!

Let the parts shopping begin!!! 🤣

I have lots of projects to keep me busy here... Now I have a few projects that I'll ENJOY too!
I'm pretty excited about these two!
I get to use some of my 'extra' parts that I have been collecting over the years too.

I keep finding deals on vintage stuff... I still need to buy a radio so I can actually USE some of these things too!!! 🤣

If I recall correctly, you stashed away a couple VERY nice kits too!
I can't wait to see the unboxing vids!!! 😎

What are your plans for your kits?
Any plans to try and run them on a track?

Mine will be slow and not winning I'll bet, but I'll be the happiest guy at the track! 👍😁

Oh, yeah, once built they will be tested.

Also have plans to build an abbreviated crawler track (broken concrete and maybe a suspension bridge) along the side of our home where grass doesn't survive.

I was hoping to build a small crawler course indoors for winter. The suspension bridge sounds fun! 👍

I love my 'shelf queens' but even those are wanting some track time right now! Its time to knock the dust off! 😎

Next day of summer vacation...
Got yelled at by Mrs Certified to clean up Kyosho Summer!!!! ☹️

🤛👊🤜🤕
Now I'm putting Kyosho Summer away. ☹️🤕🤣🤣🤣

There is Kyosho ALL over this house! 🤣
Perhaps one day, some of it will get out and enjoy the sunshine.

With any kind of luck, this heatwave nonsense has passed and I might get out to enjoy the sunshine again too!!!
2 days on lockdown! 🥵

I was looking the SE over. I believe I have most of the parts already here. Since that one will be full resto, a vintage radio system is going in it.
I have PLENTY of the old gear to make the resto happen, quickly. 😁
The SE chassis plate is heavier than stock. Its thicker.
The car weighs a LOT!!! I will need to find a suitable brushed motor to make it rip!!!

I'm going to paint it bright orange and call it 'TMK'.
(Turn Marshall Killer!!!) 🤣
