Question for everyone (mainly the engine guys) but i was wondering what part of the pipe affects how the engine runs. for instance, take the HPI ribbed pipe, it affects the low end a ton, but does the fact that it is shorter and fatter make it a bottom end pipe? or are other factors affect the engine more then size and shape of the pipe?

Thanks for your time :hammer:

from what i have learned, its all about timing, the length of the pipe makes the echo hit the exhaust port at different times of the cycle,

the shorter pipe being more grunt, and the longer pipe being more top end.

the width I'm not sure on, but the size of the stinger also affects the engine and the amount of backpressure

if I'm way off then I'm SURE someone will come along and let us know!!

I can't add anything to this topic other than the title is very misleading.

Umm, my chick read this line over my shoulder and started ROTFLHAO...she said size and shape are ALL that matters in pipes....that's my dig on the thread.....

But I was told the shorter pipes are for low end and long for top end power......
