ok here goes

i got my new ready to run nitro fusion .21 yesterday , the guy in the model shop set it all up , and had it running at the front of the shop .
now i took it home and started it again when i got home from work today ,primed the engine and started it . It started fine after a minute or so and idle no problems

after running that tank out i took it inside and left it untill my mate came around about 20mins later so he wanted to see it .

but when i filled the tank up again, primed it, and started it it just REVS and does not stop!!, loads of smelly smoke lol so of course not not having a clue wots going on i cut it off with my finger over the exhaust. I tried a few more times to start it but everytime when it turnes over it just revs and revs so i stop it IMIDIATILY:(

wot is happening here as it was all setup fine and the guy in the model shop said i will not have to mess with any of the carb screws until i take the car back after the fule has gone so he can check it and tune it

any information would be aprisiated
( i am new to nitro cars and ,have no idea about anything) lol !! bad init

thanx all

Are you remembering to turn on your transmitter and radio first? If your trans is on and radio is off, the car will start and rev a full throttle, this is an easy thing to forget when you are just starting out,I still do it once in a while, a real eye opener isnt it?

You may have also left your reciver batteries on after putting the car to rest and the batts died, check them as well! good luck!

yeah i turn the control on first followed by the car batteries , then attach the plug start it and ITS REVS , V LOUD
!!! lol

its not fair man
how often do u prime it ? every fule tank ?

chears

well, you know your getting fuel, thats for sure, no need to over prime, take a look at your throttle linkage or your return spring(if you have one) your carb is opening up wot for some reason, check the adjustments on your radio as well, If the guy at your store had it set up for you, not much could have gone wrong in that short amount of time, sounds like a very simple and obvious problem, take a good look at these things and see if that helps.

ok chears mate , my friend from work is coming around soon he has a few nitro cars and buggies so he will hopefully be ablr to help , all though when i explaind over the phone he said it has never hapened to his b4

with reguard to it being setup only yesterday i couldn't agree more its so odd , must be something obvious and stupid

when he set it up yesterday it was edging forward slightily at idle so when it was turned off he ajusted the throttle arm (??) tiny screw and he said it would be fine , could this have anything to do with it??

yes,, could have alot to do with it,, you can't really adjust or tune an engine thats not running, when the car is off can you turn on your trans and look into your carb and see where your slide or barrel(which you have i dont know) is?, can you give it throttle and break and see the carb and brakes working freely? My point is, if something was wrong with the carb adjustment, it would be obvious to see with the car not running just by looking at the carb, as you get more experience with tuning this mill you will understand this and it will become much easier for you to trouble shoot problems like this, welcome to the addiction called nitro, the challenge is to learn and keep your sanity at the same time, dont worry though! between this site and your friend that is coming to help you, you will be fine, thats a fast car, have a blast and try and keep it that way! lol!

yeah i think this site is perfect , defo the best forum for nitro addicts!! i realy cannot wait to learn more , and after she's broke in ,see wot she's capable off :-D

may i ask , wots the best power of drill /screwdriver to use to start the beast? the one i got doesn't seam powerfull enough lol

I'm not sure if this was suggested yet, but here it is go ahead and check your throttle trim on you tranmitter...it might have been moved accidentaly...especially if its analog...lmk

good luck
moses

Although I have never used that starting system, my nephew uses it on his fusion, He uses a porter cable(brand) 14v cordless drill and it fires very nicley,I guess any good cordless drill with good batteries and enough voltage would work well.

NM to the rescue! BTW NM, is that the same nephew you were talking about when you were renamed the "Storm chaser?"

All kiding put aside, check your trim settings. I have done that myself. Also, when you turn on the transmitter and receiver, check the opening of the carb in relation to the position of the servo.

well i took it to the shop today and the problem was the servo , for some reason it was out and holding the the throttle out when stood still

so all is fine now :breakdown for the moment

Put fresh batts in it. It happened to me before it is the throttle linkage rest that and also rest the idle. Also if it isnt that then there mit be an air leak in the engine and it is causeing it to lean up. Or the pipe mit not be on tight so also check that.
