Build Showcase David's AE B74.1D Wheeler

Very very first 4WD Car, Kit Car, and High End race grade car. Got it for my 14th birthday (2022) and started racing with it. Racing Stock 13.5 class on indoor carpet and indoor (sealed) dirt.

Updated tires
My transponder died on me so until I get a new one, won't be going to the track or racing until I get a new one sadly. But hyped up for the Indoor carpet season coming soon.

need to figure out a pinion gear, is what you have listed what you are running still? I have the 78t spur as well
I believe so. I can't remember. I have too many cars to keep up with now and enough to can't remember specs I did to it lol.

I don't really change gearing anyways. Been running the same gearing since I built the thing

Also to note. I'm running I think 48 degrees of timing on a 13.5 G4 hobbywing

I just run basically box stock setup and send it. Not really a tuning person here. Lol

You should see the setup sheets in your manual. There's actually so much that you can change to track surface size and your driving style

Cool build, As you may know i own a B74.1 Carpet version it was originally my Dad's buggy but he sold it to me in Summer 2021 after my 1st race vehicle kind of failed. When me and my family move to Arizona i've been debating if i should retrofit it to race on what will be our new clay track or selling it off and getting a new race buggy like a TLR 22X-4 Elite or 22X DC.

Here's some pics of my buggy.

Take it to the track and run it. If you can't dial it in and make it drive well, then consider another car maybe.
A few year old AE car is still a solid race buggy.
I'd be surprised if you can drive better than this car can handle. I feel like thats something few drivers in the world can do.
Race it, enjoy it. Its a great car! 😎👍

I was thinking if i kept my B74.1 i would convert it into dirt\clay spec and completely rebuild it but i'll save that for once me and my family move to Arizona. Right i'm mostly focused on my X-Maxx and someday making into my Ultimate X-Maxx.

Yea I agree with @CertifiedMike
Keeping your .1 would save money and the .1 setup on both carpet/turf or dirt/clay is still pretty good. Still great setups out there and it can wheel around nicely.
I have no intentions on upgrading my 74.1 (for 4wd) and my 22 5.0 (for 2wd) anytime soon, unless I want to be on the podium, win some races (but more than half of that is being consistent and is your driving), or if AE parts support dies off. Parts for the .1 is still pretty decent imo.
