i decided to switch all my bags and boards over to mylar and acid free. now i'm stuck doing 1800+ comics. i can't feel my fingers anymore. anybody that collects comics knows exactly what i'm talking about. just thought i'd share my pain....:depress:

damn 1800+ comics. i used to have comics but no where near that much.

I feel your pain.

I did the same thing over 15 years ago with about 750 comics.

I also remember it being pretty pricey to do it too.

I still have a few of my X-men comics I wanted for so long and finally got them.....I want to put them in frames...got any suggestions for doing that???
I was thinking comic in the mylar and mount that in a frame.....

I did that with my Penthouse, Playboy, Barely Legal, Cheri, Swank and Hustler collections. The callous made for a different feel and it makes clean up a breeze!:OMG: :opps:

TS thinks you are kidding, Jet.

Monkey man has only his "Hi-Lites" mags to preserve, you know, the ones he stole from the kiddies magazine rack at the dentist's office?!?

I'm with you but I laminate them for different purposes..:OMG:

Damn, I got to many Hobbies lol

I'm in the process of doing this my self but with a few more comics. It's a ton of a fun for sure lol I use the Mylite2's from E Gerber, since it's good sleeves and a decent deal on them.

Now my high end books are either slabbed or aabout to be slabbed. I pretty much use the CGC for those.

So what comics do you all collect?

OMG man... THAT is hilarious right there, i dont care who you are! (Git-r-done!) Ever try the "stranger"

i have some silver age stuff and am starting to get into the golden age stuff. i also have a bunch of the recent variants and junk that i'm trying to get rid of. i use the arklites and thin xtenders from BCE 'cause they're cheap. i use the thick sleeves for the good stuff and the REALLY good stuff is all slabbed. here is one i'm about to send off to get done. it has some defects on the cover but the interior is immaculate. bright white pages like a brand new book. i got it for 12 dollars from the local guy. he didn't even look inside before he sold it to me. it's Adventure Comics #260. first silver age origin of aquaman so it's a minor key book as well.

well right now the only ones I can find are 101 (phoenix 1st) 137 (death of) 141 & 142 (future) and giant sized-1...I have the first appearance of juggernaught (#12) in so so condition and a few of the reprint issues...I only want to do the giant size/101 and 137.....

i have a 101 and a 137 also. those are smart books to have with the new movie coming out. if you're gonna sell em wait until the movie just leaves the theaters. they'll be ripe for the picking then. did you see the frames? they actually look pretty good, i think.

I'm pretty much moving into silver age and when I can aford it, Golden age. I got hooked on modern comics a while back but all them damn variants reminds me of the 90's all over again. My goal right now is to get the entire run of Amazing Spider-man...I got like 150-520's right now. That is a complete run and no gaps. I got other books like First Kraven/mention of Mary Jane and first King Pin etc but nothing in complete runs that early on. I do how ever have all the ASM annuals. I'm also shooting for Amazing Fantasy 15 ( first apr of Spider-man). I don't have any of the Phoenix saga books but I do have Xmen 94,95 and 100. I also got a crapy copy of Giant size Xmen 1 and a 3.0 Hulk 181 ( first wolverine).

heres some pics ...Giant size xmen and House of secrets 94? first swamp thing.

are comics worth anything anymore? I'm sure certain ones are, but was just kinda curious. I was going threw some of my old folders and found a couple that I thought would sell pretty decent on ebay, but 3 of the 4 didnt even get a bid. The only one that sold was the #1 issue of "Under Dog" and that went for $9. Then I had a early 70's Fantasic 4, #2 issue of "Dudley do right", and #6 issue of "doomsday +1" and they didnt get ANY hits..

well....that one i posted up can fetch me about 150 bux at any old shop. probably double that to an individual. Ray's books are WAY important books. early batmans, 1st wolverine, etc. in other words....CHA CHING!!

edit: if you're the investor type, read this.

I had hulk 180 & 181...wolverines first appearance was actually the last frame of 180.....oh god I just turned a whiter shade of geek just now....
I had almost every Xmen from 11 to 213 at one point missing only about 20 or so in the run.....some of those books got me my first apt in NYC...LOL.....I had almost every mini series involving the Xmen too....didn't really venture out much from marvel back in those days of middle school comic collecting.....
