So what do you think of the glowplug igniters that just have the "D" cell energiser or duracell or whatever batterie inside? Are they any good or are they no good? I have pull and EZ start BTW. I don't think it matters though.

I have one of them that came with my GT2 and it's already starting to wear out. I'd personally get yourself a decent glow igniter. Myself personally, I went with a Racers Edge 4.4Ah Metered Glow Ignitor. But then everyone has a preference.

I now use a Dynamite D-cell ignitor. I LOVE it. I used to have the same type except it took a rechargable sub-c cell. I MUCH prefer to use alkalines just because of the convenience factor. As long as you have an extra on hand you'll never have to worry about being done for the day or at the very least a significant amount of time because your battery is dead.

I look at it like this... If you have your engines tuned well and you don't have to mess around with starting/restarting them a lot then you won't be putting your glow ignitor through a lot of use. Rechargables lose charge over time so even if you think you have a charged backup it may not be very strong if it's been a while since you charged it.

I say C or D alkalines all the way for glow ignitors

Well I have a good one. It is metered and what not but I got one that uses a d battery. I was wondering how they work. I used it on my savage and it worked fine but I assume the battery has to be fresh or it will be hard to start.

i have a d cell igniter and have only had problems with it.
i thought there was something wrong with my buggy because it would take 20 mins to start.
i bought another glow igniter (1800 mah) and it starts second pull.
i guess there are different versions of the igniter?.

I would think. They are probably all essentially the same but tiny differences if any.

Depends

It kind of depends if your cars start really easily like first pull it would be fine but if it takes several minutes you will be forever buying batteries. :normal:

Thats true. I think with a good tune, it would start up quick. So do they heat up a glowplug to the right temp? Or are the sub c better?

All you really have to know is that a rechargable ignitor offers 1.2v to the glow plug wheras an alkaline ignitor can offer 1.5v

Yeah well its been a long weekend for me. No relaxation at all. So it doesn't matter, it is all personal preferance?

Are you actually asking a question here or just trying to get that post count up? You seem intent to belabor an issue that doesn't exist (kind of like the majority of your posts)!

Let me try to help you; yes, it's a personal preference, kind of like beer and women! Jesus man, just pick one and move on! This thread serves no purpose other than to get your post count up and suck up server space!

Whoa, I'm just trying to learn something and you blow up in my face. I try to help out when I can and try to learn stuff from this forum, I see no reason why you are attacking me for asking a question. And I really don't care about my post count. I was just proud of passing 1000. Everybody does and I suppose that thread was not needed but that is irrelivant. I just wanted to learn from here, not trying to piss anybody off but I guess I mannaged to get you mad by asking a question.

Well I didn't exactly understand the answer. I read and reread the posts and then simply asked if it was personal preferance and I got snapped on. Maybe I missed something but I don't think I have done anything wrong.
