i got soem tiem to run today and whenevert i hit the brakes the engine shuts off! what do i have to do to fix that?

It sounds like your closing the carb when you hit the breaks. You have to adjust your carb and your throttle linkage.

i think its my throttle linkage because when i put the new flywheel on i had to taske all that stuff out so ill have to go check that out now. thanks vbgagnon

I would also check the idle screw on the carb as mentioned above. If its adjusted properly it shouldn't close all the way weather the linkage is adjusted properly or not.

I use a spring on the front side of the linkage to "absorb" any additional travel in the throttle linkage and keep the carb closed to the adjusted idle when the brake is being applied.

It is the Idle stop screw. adjust it so that the carb stays open about 1 to 2 MM's when hitting brakes.

I'll try to be the voice of reason here. You really REALLY may want to check your idle stop screw.

There's a very good chance it may be your idle stop screw.... If that doesn't do it, check your idle stop screw. Hope that clears things up for ya..
