Ok well I have recently been put under a trance and forced to buy a Jammin CRT .5 .....I am not sure exactly what happened(as I was in a trance) but I went to the hobby store today for a new set of front shocks for rny Hyper St Pro. I had recently taken the Hyper to the edge of thrashing and I bent a front shock shaft in the process (first item to go on that extra durable beast.)

Now I had been eying the .5 for awhile...its just so cute...but I was resisting the urge to get on pretty well. And then...it happened...?!!!??

As I walked into RPM HOBBIES, things got all fuzzy the room began to spin......someone was talking to me and all I remember is .....which card do you want to put that on TalonOne????....... and well 20 minutes later I was loading the kit and all of the necessary items into my car.

My wife wants to call local authorities to see if perhaps I have been the victim of some sort of identity fraud or kidnapping....but I told her to wait until I at least build the kit up....just in case there is some hidden message in the diff oils for me.

Anyway since I am now the proud owner of this little nitro truggy....I thought I would start a thread for folks to share their experiences and set ups and of coarse BRING ON THE PICS!!!

I will snap some tomorrow as I get to it, to add here.

Cheers !!

Oh man, TalonOne. I'm really sorry to hear about your blackouts. It happens to me way too often. It only seems to happen in two types of stores though. Electronics and hobby shops. It must have something to do with the smell of plastic or circuit boards.
I'm guessing it's probably plastic since that's the first thing I take out of my wallet, and that usually allows me to leave while carrying stuff they gave me. I've never given anyone cash for any of that, so why do they keep giving me such great stuff?
I'm not complaining. Just hoping they let me keep it.

I've been thinkin about getting one too, mainly because it's smaller and would make an ideal backyard basher (for my back yard, that is). I've been curious as to how well designed the little truck really is.

I've also been thinking abut picking one up ever since the RTR version came out with the longer chassis. It is a really good candidate for a brushless conversion and the motor mount is available from RCM.

So where's the pics Talon?

Here are some pics. It is a neat little kit. I went with the suggested JR servos and the Jammin .12 with the mini bump start. It appears all of the engineering that makes the other Jammin / Ofna products so durable is at play here. I can see some opportunities for hop ups. I have not researched all of the cool upgrades I am sure are out there....this one will be strictly don't replace anything until it breaks.....or I just have to have the item.....;)

On with the pics.....

This is a great kit and was really easy to build up....and you have ALL of the performance of a larger Truggy in the little package. It would be neat to see the rest of the industry catch up and a real class for these.

sweet little rig man! I thought heavily about getting the little Kyosho buggy but decided I have enough small ones.

Yea, you will notice I am now putting my buggies up for sale,......I can really only take care two or three at a time...so I will just rotate them..;)

The only needed upgrade is the new hard coated pipe, that stocker gets dinged and dented really easy.
But it is a mighty tough little basher, I have yet to break anything on it, and dropping an OS.18TZ into it is on the brink of insanity and wheelies are really quick.

That is crazy Bent.....I ran those (or the TMs anyway)in my revos....and they were wild.

Yea, I am looking at the cnc knuckles ...I already lost one,....in breakin.....go figure.....it actually did not break it just keeps loosing the screw......so some metal there would help.

And the hardened pipe for sure.....do you have the scoop ion the extended chassis....I am pretty sure the kit I got had been on the shelf for awhile and so I have thee older length. have you seen or are you using the new one?
Heard anything?

The extended chassis only lengthens it by 4mm, not enough IMO, I would like to see about 3/4 of an inch for those who use 2.2" tires.
BTW, 2.2's are the way to go, it's like putting MT on a buggy, more rotational mass which equals better backflips and higher wheelies.

I got to drive a friends RTR version at the track, he was still breaking it in and it was stilll very impressive. Needless to say I may have one real soon. AAHHH the darkness surrounds me!!!!

isn't there a version that comes ARR, with servos and engine or maybe just with the engine and pipe? i thought I read that once before.

I'm dying to buy a new toy but with some many to choose from, i'm getting dizzy...

I hear you there....lots of choice....I can see my kids Christmas money dwindling as we speak.....and not for stuff for them....but for new toys for DAD. ;)

There is an RTR version all ready to go .....$350 ish I believe.

But I like a kit....that way I decide on the components.....or most of them anyway.

i'm not into the rtr deal. i'll have to research it a bit. i'm still trying to sell some items to help fund 'toys for dad' this year. but with 2 boys under 3 and the wife wanting a 3rd, toys for me are not looking good.

I hear you...been there done that....wait until they are 12 , 14 and 16 ....they want real cars and guitars and such as that.....:surrender

so hows the crt? get thru break in yet? i did goto the ofna page and the one i was thinking about turned out to be the rtr model local guy quoted me 320 for it, so its tempting. but i really want that HST so i need to resist the urge.
