He would have been cut to shreds, have you ever seen a jet engine? The fan blades would have chopped him up in a million pieces!

Hmmm..thought we already had this discussion. Was there another thread like this???

When he was sucked in, his vest was ripped off. That's what shot out the back of the engine in flames. But he was saved by his helmet. It jammed up the blades of the impeller enough to keep him out of it. And the pilot shut down the engines quick enough to keep any other damage from happening. At least that's the way I heard it when I saw it on TV.
