Ok I am counting on all of you that know something about computers to help....
My friend has a video camera called a handycam. It is alittle old and it uses something called I.link to transfer the video from the camera to the computer. But my computer don’t have an I.Link port (my computer has the editing software) so I am looking for something that could transfer it to my computer without breaking my wallet. Would this work? http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INT...oryName=dcc_DICamcorders_DIAccessories_Cables
I am assuming that 6pin is USB? Or should be but it on his computer burn it to a cd then but the cd in my computer... Would it compress it by burning it or distort it? I know it is going from digital to digital so it shouldn't affect anything right?

iLink is the same thing as firewire or IEEE 1394. If your computer has firewire, you're set other than having the correct cable (either 6 to 4 or 4 to 4). FW cards aren't that expensive if your computer doesn't have FW already.

Oh, and you can get cables alot cheaper than that one on sony's site.

Thanks error I didnt know that I.link was also firewire Looks like I am going to buy a firewire card this weekend... I called dell up and they said my computer can support the card.
