Ok, My comp. is freakin out, 3 or 4 times a day random commercials come through my speakers, weather I'm on it or not, it's been going on for a month or so now and I can't figure it out, the week michael jackson died, it kept playing clips from his memorial and stuff. Just now it said something about a guy being worn out, and he said "that's what happens when you spend the night with 4 studs and a turtle", besides that there are ads for axe, and just off the wall crap...........

Can anybody help a brotha out???

It sounds like there's an on line station playing. Do you turn it off and reboot? That should turn it off. There's a possibility that it's been turned on by an accidental hit of a 'hot' key.
Go to Ctrl, Alt, Del and see what's running.

all thats running is mozilla firefox, this will happen when nobody is even in the room, the computer has been rebooted at least 10 times since this has started. it's really creepy, it did the axe "double pits to chesty" commercial earlier, and it played "choclate rain" 2 weeks ago

So, it's not constant? It just sounds off randomly?
Is it static like and distant or clear as a bell?
I'm thinking you might want to move some wires around since something is acting like an antenna and picking up a signal.

LMAO thats funny. Sorry. Does it do it when not connected to the intrawebz?

If the monitor spins around, and pea soup starts to spew out of the DVD drive, I STRONGLY recommend that you vacate the premises and come back with someone who speaks Latin.

Are you running an anti-spyware program? It may be some spyware that installed itself while you were browsing.

i would close all browsers and see, then if it still does it disconnect the internet and see. let us know.

id just leave it alone, having the commercials come on lets you know when its time to go to the bathroom or get a drink. pretty handy.

HAHAHA, sometimes it happens 4 times in an hour and sometimes it happens 1 time in a whole day. I'll start unplugging my router when I am not online and see if it happens when i'm not on.

and I'm running anti-spyware

What anti spyware you running?

Try adaware and spybot search and destroy to see if they clean it up.

i use malwarebayes antispyware, just google "mbam" for it.

what antivirus are you using?

I'll see if it does it when I am off the net first and go from there.

NEVER, EVER click on a file ending in .exe, if it pops up while surfing or shows up as an attachment in an Email. Any file with .exe will install a program into your computer, and that's the way you get the nastiest viruses imaginable, and YOU okayed it.
It might not show up with a malware or antivirus search since it's been installed. You might have to go look for it and remove it manually. That won't be easy, since they usually hide under false names.
Depending on how long it's been there, your best bet, after doing malware and virus scans, would be to run your system restore to a date prior to the problem. You won't lose any files, just new programs and registry changes.

Sure sounds like MalWare to me.... Not all EXEs are evil Rolex...but any EXEs from someone you don't know....or unexpected EXEs from someone you do know are certainly suspect. I send out self extracting zip files all the time and they have an EXE file extension ;-)

I always turn off the preview pane in Outlook as well since any e-mails you get that have Javascript or ActiveX components *could* get Outlook to run them just by previewing the message. Seen a LOT of users get zapped that way. Outlook is great, and it sucks all at the same time!

.exe is just going to be an executable program. What you really need to watch out for a .bat files. They are the one's that will open command prompt. Command prompt has the abilities to delete system32 in the windows folder which will make you not able to boot your computer. Are you running vista, if you are open your task manager and go to processes. Order them alphabetically by clicking image name, go down and see if you have more than 5 svchost.exe those are going to be the applications that are effecting your computer. Also a side note, Run Ccleaner, yes with 2 "C's". It finds files in your computer that are problems and lets you know so you can delete them. Just alittle I know....
