Good morning to all-
So like much of the country, we've had some filthy weather here on the Gulf Coast lately. Lots of rain, lots of wind, lots of chilly fronts blowing through. Not fit weather for man, beast or rc aviator.
But this morning it has been fairly calm, and no rain so like any normally constructed rc flier, I took myself and my little yellow Waco Eflite biplane down to the local flying field- that would be Easley's hayfield, for those not local- and hooked her up and took her off. Funny how only a few days grounded makes the need for altitude quite a bit stronger, and I truly enjoyed the loops, rolls, and other elementary aerobatics I am capable of. Spent some time flying with the resident geese which were flying around the hayfield with me.
I flew the little biplane until my fingers began to numb up on me, so I circled around downwind, came on base, and then a slow and easy final. Landed the little yellow plane, taxied her to the truck, and shut her down.
Totally satisfying morning flight, it was.

you all be safe and keep well- Ed

Glad you got your fix! It's terrible when weather keeps you grounded.

Its not THAT cold until the rain starts falling slowly and turns white. 😉❄️🥶🤣
Glad you got some flight time in during the cold days!!!👍😍

CertifiedMike- That white cold stuff that falls from the clouds is a primary reason I relocated from the Ozarks down to the Gulf Coast. In my old age, my blood has thinned so that I don't handle cold well at all- give me sun and a cold beer and a nice soft stretch of beach sand to recline on and I'm happy.

Of course, I will go back out this morning to fly as soon as it gets light- forecast is for calm winds, not terribly cold today.

How have you Fellers done flying-wise so far this winter? Does your local weather allow you to fly much?

I haven't flown any lately, just too cold. Stopped at the store yesterday evening on the way home, it was already 25deg with a 15mph wind at 5:30. Was a balmy 11deg when I left for the office this morning. They've now upped the snow forecast to 6" for tomorrow into Saturday. Got packs pulled out for the Wraith in case I feel inclined to get in some snow bashing.

So far we have done ok for weather, upper 50's while we have been out there. Getting our schedules (My flying buddy and I) sorted to make time to fly has been the biggest obstacle lately. We have vowed to get out more this year, I don't think I got to fly more than 10 times last year. :(

I understand. I have to have regular injections of antifreeze and oatmeal ( blood thickener) ! 🤣
Its been silly cold and windy here.
I got my Gorgon out for some back yard jumps and stunts but thats been it for outdoor rc for me for a couple months now actually ☹️
I think my little drones might freeze mid-flight anyways🥶

Is this a better time to buy a plane? Off season deals or is that not a thing?
I'd love to try flying a plane again! 😎
