i am working on an old car. When the engine is at idle, the clutch is still ingaging. i need help on fixing this problem, because it will wear out my clutch shoes.

no, there still tight as could be, i think it MIGHT be idling to high, but i sounds fine?

If your springs are good, and the BEARINGS are good the most likely reason is your idle is too high.

With engine off and pinion AWAY from spur, it should spin smooth and free. If the bearings are aging or bad it will also cause the clutch to prematurely engage.

after about a gallon of fuel i noticed my clutch was pulling the truck while idleing. i put new springs on and it fixed the problem. just casue the springs tension feels tight doesn't mean they are as tight as new. try some springs I'm almost pos it will fix the pull while idle.
