Hey guys, another question...would it be safe to clean my car with soap and water in a spray bottle as long as i blow it dry with the air compressor afterward? i just dont want the water to cause rust or anything in the bearings. Took my car the the LHS and they finally got her running good...i've got almost 12 tanks through it so I'm about to start leaning it out a bit:banana:

What I always do is remove the engine from the car, and remove the battery and receiver.

Then I douse it 50/50 simple green and water and take a toothbrush to the oily spots. Spray it down with the water hose, then blow it off with the air compressor.

As far as the engine goes. Brake cleaner, and a brief water rinse. Relube the clutch bearings and give the clutch shoes a quick brush with a piece of sand paper (while I'm there). Then reinstall everything and shelf it.

Dont forget to remove all the wheel bearings and steering bearings first. If not you will wash the greese out of them and they will fail.

Overall I would say its not the best method of cleaning. I tooth brush with WD40 works great.
