Soaking in nitro is quite expensive, ouch not sure if I'd try that one lol.

Soak it in old nitro fuel that you would be concerned about running then. Its not like your using a lot of it anyway. Your not supposed to submerge it, your just soaking the parts and the inside of the crankcase. On top of all that dont soak in a big dish or you will be using more than you need no matter what you choose to clean it with. Idk why your laughing more people do that than you know. It would use less than $3 worth of fuel which is less than what you would be spending on anything else in the first place to do the same thing. Dont be stupid and wasteful. Use your head.
I used to use my old fuel that went bad to clean my engines. When I ran out I looked for an alternative and found that de natured alcohol and mean great works really good. I have heard people using carb cleaner that I would not do. If anything I would use brake cleaner its less abrasive and sensor safe. Plus some brake cleaner has some lubing capabilities.![]()
If the engine is dissasembled all you need is hot water/soap and a toothbrush.

I would be worried about water causing the engine to rust. Water is the last thing you want in your engine.
I was laughing because I have a sense of humor.. We do try to be friendly and helpful here and have a good time, and not call others' "stupid". And I am well aware people do it, I have done it, we are simply offering alternatives and knowledge.

But anyhow... In the garage, I used to use Gunk, the kind that doesn't foam. It's great for cleaning up metals and also safe on plastics and rubbers, works very well and a somewhat common garage item. Plus its cheap! I just use brake cleaner because it leaves no film and evaporates instantly. I use that crap for everything lol. Castrol has one too but i forget name, super clean or something? Awesome stuff.
