Good luck at the competition Rob. If I decide to build a 2.2 rig, I'll probably join you in a few comps in the future.

That would be cool Dom.

They actually have some comps that are north of Santa Cruz at a place called The Bean on hwy 1.

I have seen pics of tht place it is sweeeeeeet, I wish Cali wasn't so damn far away.:hehe:

I may be mistaken, but I do recall seeing some crawler guys when I took my family to "The Bean" beach. That's only about 20 minutes from my house.
Does The Bean look like this ???

OMG, those are some cool beans (ok that was quite cheesy lol). Man that trail is saweeeet. I wish Cali wasn't so far as well. Maybe I'll become a crawling hobo and hop a train out that way lol.

I think they just had one there last weekend.

is that "Bean" place hard ass dirt or rock? if its rock what kind is it?

It's rock along the coast line. The loose stuff you see is sand.

oh ok, it just looked red to me. the sand prolly makes it interesting though and a nice challenge on everything i bet.

After looking at the pics more thoroughly, that is the same beach I took my family to this year. The guys weren't the same as the pics, they had tennis ball gates set-up for their course.

I'll keep an eye out on rcc for the next comp.

I had a frickin' blast.

I don't know where I placed yet, but I did not point out or time out on any course. I exceeded my expectations that's for sure.

I also won a Novak 55 motor and solder in the drivers raffle.

Sadly, I forgot my camera, but Jakes will have pics up on his site in a few days.

I can't wait to do it again!

good to here that you did well (even though you dont know where you placed!)

heck yeah rob, its completly different than crawling alone lol, its cool to see others rigs and setups in person imo. glad you had fun.

There were 52 guys entered.

I would say about 45 were in the comp class which is where I was.

I am pretty sure I was in the top 20, but I will have to wait until they post the standings to be sure.

One of the guys I know won a Traxxas Velineon set-up in the drivers raffle. For the main prize DX3R, they put everybody's name back in the pot. He then won the DX3R. Lucky bastard.

I was waiting to hear all day Rob, It's great that you did good. It's doesn't matter where you placed, from what you asid already, I think you did GRRRR-ATE as Tony the Tiger would say.

The Warthog performed wonderfully. It stayed planted and easily went over areas where others struggled. The 7t puller motor was giving me phenomenal throttle control that kept me out of trouble. At one point I was in danger of running out of time with only 30 seconds left and 3 gates to clear. I simply gunned it and cruised over stuff like it wasn't there and made it over the line with 2 seconds to spare. Great motor and chassis.
