Today it was 101F outside and now a storms blowing in. Heres a couple snaps I took of a wall cloud I took from my front yard. It was lightning out so I hid under a tree and snapped a few quick ones. Thats why there kinda blurry. I managed to catch a couple lightning bolts though.. Anyway, thought they were kinda cool, so I thought Id share em. (these are simaltaanias (sp?) shots where it takes 3 right in a row. (The 3rd one was SUPER blury) so I'm guessing its the same lighting bolt.

Didn't anyone ever tell you that you shouldn't be under a tree during a storm, lighting can pass from the tree right to you.

didnt anyone ever teach you to use a tripod or at least some impromptu stable surface for long exposure pics?

cool tho!

Well it was sprinkling and I didnt wanna get the cam wet..lol..

No tripod either.. Only thing to lean on out there was the tree I was standing under, and I dont think it worked to well..

We had an Awesome lightning show about a week ago. It felt like it was right over the top of us, cause when it went off, you could see the whole side of the building across from us..about 10 yards light up bright, like it was daytime, and then the thunder boomers came. Out here in nevada its a show you don't forget.

shhhhh, I have a million dollar policy out on him, double if he gets hit by lightning. :wasted:

the thing about lighting bolts hitting you if you stand under a tree is vary true one of my best friends just got killed by lighting last monday night and he was standing under a tree talking to someone and bang the next thing he got hit hard and never made it to the hospital (DOA). i never thought it would happen to someone i knew but after that i will never be anywhere near a tree if it looks like it going to storm out just thought i would share the pain.P.S this happend in NORTHERN WISCONSIN
