Can a glowplug starter be dumped and then rechargerd with something faster than the trickle chargers that come with them (125-150 Mah) when using the glowplug starters that have NiCad C cells in them? How could I do this? At what amperage and for how long? ( I have a disposable hex-fitting, with wires, from an old glowplug starter trickle charger that could be soldered to a Bec or Tamiya plug).

Also, what do you guys think of the glowplug starters that are powered by a d-cell disposable alkaline battery...say a Duracell...do they last very long compared to the rechargable Nicad C-cells? Are they hootter?

i use a superbrain 959 and chargers my c cell quick - not sure off hand what rate

you really want to charge your ignitor at a slow rate......slower charges last longer....do you really want to go out and have everything set to go and no glow ignitor???...if you want a safe fast charge get a glow-bee....you need 12vdc but you can hook it up to your car battery if you don't have a power supply...

Hey, I am currently using a D alkaline Energizer battery in a cheap glow igniter (about $5) and The battery runs out fairly quick. I am looking to get a rechargable one once I find one that is cheap and good. I have heard from pretty much everyone that rechargable ones are a lot better because they produce a longer, and hotter glow. I hope that helps.
