I bought a battery pack today for my savage receiver when I plug it in to charge the charger blinks red and I've had it on charge for 2 hours but no power from it should the red light be solid ?!

The old charger i had, I think when it flashed, it wasn't charging. When it was solid red it was charging, but was a long time ago i used it. I sold it on ebay very cheap having a screen is much better than led's.
I don't know it all chargers with led's work like this.

After running back and forth to my model shop I have finally got it resolved was all down to a faulty battery, plugged my replacement in and the red light on the charger stayed in and just after an hour later it was green:)
Thanks for all the help!!

Sounds like it had a bad solder joint or was so dead that the charger didn't see it. I've had that issue before and I use a low voltage power supply on the battery for 10 seconds, then throw it on the charger and it picks it up.

A power supply doesn't care about a flat pack, current flows regardless unless there's an open. Chargers care about 0 volts and don't try.

I've unintentionally drained my packs too far using bulbs (yearly cycling) and my charger won't pick them up.
