carwashing 1:1...wow!!

I am an anal bastard when it comes to washing my Titan (Nissan, not OFNA). I used to never take it to a car wash ONLY hand washed it, and would always hand dry it (chamois) after.

Because of my schedule, I started finding less and less time to wash it in the morning before the sun comes up (direct sunlight + arizona hard water = water spots), so I cracked and got one of those Mr. Clean Auto Dry car wash kits. That is the single best car wash my truck has ever had. There was not one spot or streak on the entire truck. I didn't even need to windex the glass afterward.

Well worth every penny. The only bummer is that the hard water in AZ makes the filters go out quicker than they are supposed to. Between that thing and a can of spray Armor All for the tires and rear bumper, my truck looks cleaner than the ones in the showroom (aside from scratches from desert romping, but I have a buffer for that).

Is that system close to 30 bucks?...correct me if i am wrong. But i think i glanced at it at walmart a few weeks ago.

Well I'm American, but my roots make me full blooded Italian.
I was born here, my parents were born here, and my grandmother had a beautiful
mustache.

For the "Pro series" but standard dropped in price to under 20 I think. All the other one adds is a car wash mitt and a rubberized handle. The way they get you, is that it goes 3 uses on the first purchase. Then you buy refill soap and filter for 10 uses (5 bucks soap, 5 bucks filter). Since the water is hard in my area, we got 2 uses, and 7 uses respectively. I don't care what the cost though, I like my vehicles to look perfect. Except the bed. I always leave the bed of all my trucks crusty as sin. That way you can tell it apart from the business man types, whose trucks have never touched dirt. If you look in the bed you can tell my truck has seen hell, but if you look at the body, it looks unused.

Them Mr.Clean Auto dry things are awesome! For most of my washings I use my pressure washer though. I have my industrail one from when I had my shop. 3200 psi, 4.8 Gallons per minute, and also has a kerosene burner steamer on it.. ::Grunts like tim allen::

I actually have a power washer too, but not quite that beefy. I still like the Mr. Clean system better though. The AZ water that goes into my power washer still sucks. Now, if I had a filter for it. . . hmmm. . .

Does that mean you were only half offended?
My family is about as diverse as they come. Most people here know that the last thing I am is raciest. No offense was intended. When it boils down, I'm equal opportunity, Ill let any one wash my car if they do a good job :p:

Side note and small rant.
So many people get offended by simple comments. This country has become so politically correct that people get their panties in a bunch for the simple reason that its the politically correct thing to do. Instead of getting offended people should take some time to question a statement or comment to see if there is a reason to be upset by it. For all some people know, I could be Mexican. If I was, Would my comment have been offensive?
End rant.

There was a Priest and a Rabbi walking down the road.....

I see your point Eddy, You just have to understand that I have dealt with a lot of racism in my life and it drives me insane!!! When I seen your comment I felt like you where being disrespectfull and I reacted on it. I'm very glad to hear your not racist and where simply telling that where you take your car mexicans wash it. Ok anyway we both vented and got our points out lets squash this and move on :) Friends ? :D .

So back to thread, Gojo work that good ? The only thing I would worry about is what Corrado brought up about it making your paint soft after a long time of use it could damage your paint job.

well i used it today and my silverado looks damn good. i dont know if it will soften the paint, but it sure looks freaking good. After 2 washings, i no longer have any road tar behind the rear wheels under the fender. I've been trying to get rid of that for a a while now. I will continue using it...maybe alternate from GOJO to some car wash soap that I already have in the garage. If my paint frys..so be it. I know a few painters in this town. Yes it works that good.

Man I might go buy some today and use it on my Suburban :) It doesn't have a perfect paint job anyway lol. I have 12 1/2 inch wide tires on it so its constantly getting tar and other debre thrown all over the side of it.

I highly suggest waxing it after ya use gojo! Otherwise your paint will oxidize ALOT faster.

Yeah no kidding, I like to use Nu Finish wax, Its not real exspensive and works awesome, exspecialy on older oxodized vehicals. It take it right off, that is unless your paint is to gone lol

when I had my detail shop I got to learn alot from the reps and stuff, and any wax containing carnooba wax is suppose to last 3 times as long as a wax without. I used a wax (made by distinctive details) that was guranteed to improve gas milage up to 10%...lol.. Crazy. It was good stuff though. Anyway, a good wax is a green wax. NuFinish is a good product to. I'm not sure if it has carnooba in it, but Its a good wax. Also has no silicone in it so its allright in the body shops by the paints..hehe..

Carnuba also tends to have a yellow tint to it and give colors a different opinion. Check out the Guru report and the detail boards about all the different tests that have been done on different waxes. I have used them all and now only use Zaino Polishes. It's simple, inexpensive, lasts a good bit and leaves a mile deep finish.

Has anyone used Race Glaze wax? My neighbor says its the best stuff out there, and i watched him apply it and buff it off, and i can say that it made the truck look awesome. Didnt dry out or streak... I'm new to waxing, so i dont know much... could someone tell me about it? I picked up a bottle to try out... waiting for some clouds so i can try...
