I Used direct connections to everything on my TC3.
Do I need to un-solder the leads to the battery pack before discharging and re-charging?

If so, why?

I always unsoldered the pack.
You don't have to, Just make sure your switch is off so your not running the charge through the ECS. (thats bad).
When your done for the day, it's always good to unsolder the battery.
It will still draw.

Cool.
Its no big deal to un-solder them, just wondering.
Thanks for the tip on un soldering after the day as well.
I'm sure Ill get some kind of box for my packs sooner then later.

old ESCs like i used (or hell wanna get real old, pre-ESC days--idk what their like now havin not owned 1 in 8yrs), u must have unsoldered the leads. moreover i wouldnt use the same pack in a day anyway, so they were comin out regardless. perhaps only exception would be if my 2nd practice batt my dad would use for his main (u know dad, ever the team player, was ur chief mechanic and if he raced....he raced 2nd class citizen usin the leftovers).

good luck
