So I got my toki .15s in, I like the looks, can tell there older though.
2 issues off bat
pull start: no one way or anything, just a really deep backplate with a rod sitting against the conrod with a hole in the middle at the end.
no parts support at all So thought I was screwed. found a guy on eBay, he uses a tmaxx diff output yoke with dogbone rotostart. gave me the idea to go with a 6mm bore traxxas drive cup to be easier and better.

now my big issue is the carb. didn't realize there was no low speed nefeel till I got them. no biggy. just swap it out right...
issue is its got some weird carb that screws on with 2 screws from the bottom and I can't find any upgrades or any at all that will work.
any ideas?

You bought those? I see them on flea bay and they look like total junk. Why would you want to give yourself such a headache?

nefeel, NEFEEL. I see. needle, NEEDLE. I feel like such an trodil.

Sorry, meant to say idiot, but you would have known that. Some letters are there, even though they are not where they should be, and other letters just come out of no where.
Use spell check or proof read before hitting the 'reply' button.
I don't mean to come off as a nefeel dcki trodil, but I don't reply to posts I have to interpret.

I have to agree. Though Toki has made some decent motors, those .12/.15 engines you see for <$30 on fleabay look like very strange critters, not something I want to fight with when you can get an HPI .15 for $65. Heck, a little while ago, AE had a bunch of LRP stuff on clearance; I built five Z.18S engines for $42/ea, including the pull starts I had to source elsewhere. Deals are out there, but I don't see these Toki engines as one of them.

I agree, there mainly for learning.
my next purchase is going to be a nitro star t3.0 80 shipped brand new. piston and sleeve is is like 34 and I can do that myself.

also found out the smt. motor I got is actually a rebranded .15 by smt. about 30 also for piston and sleeve, but I got 27.50 back from that guy, so I bought more parts last night influencing a nice little set of tools

Great little engines. I run one in a black tub GT; the truck clocks 53 MPH with the 20T/65T gearing, and easily pulls wheelies up to 20 or 25 MPH.

Honestly, I feel these little engines run just about as good as an OS .18 CV-R, and for half the money. They also start easy and hold a tune very well.
