I have been doing a lot of reading on hear about the carb adjust and throttle linkage but am at a bit of a loss still. Froza .18 I'm trying desperately to get the idle set without turning down my trim all the way. It seems I can't get the idle screw to bring the idle down enough by itself (without the apply break and close carb). I'm sure the linkage is the issue but I haven't been able to figure it out through other people problems.... As of now i have to start my car and turn the trim all the way down to keep it from running off...... I figure i can't tune my car without it idling. Thanks -Farm Boy

i have found a high idle works fine. just so it does not pull the truck/car.

I think you miss understood me moe. When I can get it to idle its only cause the trim is knocked all the way back and its a low chugging idle. If I try to get it to not make a chugging idle sound it wants to take off. Thanks for the reply!

Well I got the linkage and idle screw to give me a perfect idle though it seems I to have to mess with the trim a hair as it warms up. I'm guessing that's normal though. What else would it be there for???

I see alot of people increase the trim during startup and then throttle it back as required once started. I havent had to do this myself but I guess its not out of the norm for some people

I can see that, giving it a touch more gas to get er' started. For me its more as it warms up the idle gets a bit higher. Just enough to trim it down a touch. But whats the trim for if you don't use it!!!

I have to trim my revo idle down a little till it warms up then it will slowly start to idle down enough to where I can put the trim back to 0.

I have an "Idle Up" button on my radio that does just that with out having to trim. Once it is wamed up a bit I turn it back off and go have fun. Most the engines I have unless it is a very warm day out I have to do the same. Perfectly normal.

That's pretty cool. Sounds out of my price range! This cheap car and some fuel is all I could afford! So does this switch basically trim up a certain amount without having to dial in the actual trim? It doesn't seem too hard to work with, its very little adjustment. I wont be able to play with it again until I get my pull start back on. Lost 4 screws while I started to tune it. Basically the pull start fell off..

Yup has happened to me too. I had all 4 engine plate screws fall out of my Savage once. One of those WTF things. More lock-tite..lol

I'm glad its not only because I bought a cheap @$$ car.. I hope to be sealing and lock-tightening soon! Has anyone found screws at a hardware store or anywhere else? And any other prevention steps I should be taking to make my car last a bit longer?

is your needle settings back to stock? it might be worth while trying that. i had the same problem the truck would not sit unless the brake was applied. Even as soon as i started her up it would run off. i am new to nitro so I have got the needles at stock just now just so i can get use to how the thing works and understand this little complex machine :)

Loc-tight is the most common thread lock and can be bought in pretty much every harware store in the uk i would imagine it would be the same in the us, it comes in a sort of paste form and a thread like form which you wrap inbetween the threads it is awkward with such a small bolt lol.

Rusty, we do have lock tight here! I was wondering if anyone could find mini machine screws that fit nitro cars. Like the ones to hold on my pull start! The only hobby store is at leas 30+ min from me ( I know thats not far but my care doesn't do highways). And I did get the linkage and idle worked out perfect! Thanks for the thoughts my friend!

ahhhh sorry misunderstanding, you could try online, the only problem with that is delivery time, i really can't be bothered with 3-5 days waiting on a delivery lol,
maybe someone with a bit more experience or the same engine can tell you what size of bolt you require.

all you have to do is get your bolt's specs and bring that with you to the hardware store and you should be fine aslong as they cary them sizes.. just make sure you arent getting the cheepest ones of that size because there is normally a reason why one would cost a little more.. good luck!!!

The spec's for all your bolts should be right in your manual or in the parts eploded veiw or list... hope this is helpful

Yeah I think it might. I found mini machine screws at the local hardware store and I brought a bolt in to compare. Couldn't find a nut that fit it...Right size but different thread pitch maybe....I didn't think to look and get the specs....DUH!!!
