I broke the pull start assembly on my Wasp .18 engine, and decided to put it away for the winter. I threw out the old pull start assembly. Anyway, I need to find a new one, but the only place that I can find that sells them is Tower Hobbies, which won't be stocking them until June. I can't even find one on the Team Orion website! Could someone lead me to a place where I can find one, or another part that would allow me to get this engine running again??
Thanks

I am not sure if there are any hobby shops around you but what I would do is, Take the motor to the hobby shop and they will be able to find one that will fit.

get a roto start, tiger drive(it hooks up to your motor,u put a drill up to it and fire it up) or rig up your own starter like i did

the tiger drive looks nice, presuming it's reliable. What did you mean by rig up my own starter?
thanks

i took a one way bearing out of and old motor or pullstart(can't remember which) and i j-b welded a drill bit to it. It fires it right up!

I was thinking of doing that, but someone told me that dirt and water and stuff would get in through the back plate. Is this true? Have you had any problems?
Thanks

nope, no problems here. been driven for a LONG time and its fine.

HPI has a pullstart that works, my LHS gave me one when i had my .18........ have u had any durability problems with ur .18? mine died right after break in....

nah, mine has been working great, it's just that it doesn't have much power. thanks for the HPI tip though

I thought the HPI one looked close, but I couldn't tell if the bearing hex was the same size. They are out of stock with those as well though at tower and a couple other sites I checked.
