Got to thinking this was reminding me of something, then I remembered I had a kit in my model stash I had forgotten about. I had to go dig it out. It made me think of this. I just checked and the body is too small to use on any of my mini rc's. I didn't remember this kit being 1/24 of course I bought it a long time ago before my journey into RC's.

I've wonedered about that too, but then how many kits have been done to death and people will buy anything to break up the monotony.

Yes the vehicross is a popular vehicle in the Isuzu world. I myself am an Isuzu guy, I have a 1990 Trooper that I’ve been working on (or lack there of) for a couple years now. It’s been in the family for ages. I drove it in high school. If one of those was a 24th scale body I’d buy a million of em for my micro stuff!

Well, my obsession is military aircraft models, and I have multiples of everything too. 🤣

The Lexus GX is the same platform as the Toyota 4runner (US) and the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in other parts of the world. The FJ Cruiser is a shortened version of it, so they are all kinda of the same beast +/- some options.

There are a few things that can make the GX470 better than the others. The first is that only the GX and the Gen 4 (2003-2009) 4Runner Limited had the V8. But you could get the off road goodies on the Lexus, in particular Full Time AWD and Locking Read Diff. The rest is mostly comfort IMO.

The new 4Runner offers locking diffs and off more road goodies but still no V8. I went in the middle with the Gen 5 4Runner Limited. It does not get the V8 but does get full time AWD and a bit more luxury. No locking diffs but it does have ATRAC (very poor mans LSD). Not planning on it but if I really get stuck I call my friends.

As for the model. Meh. I have an SCX24 and put a bunch of mods on it, including Furitek outrunner and it just needs more of something.
