What kind of candies do you or your kids like that come from Gumball machines?

M&M's, Skittles, Jaw breakers, Hot Tamales, what? Are there other candies that I didn't include that you really like?

Its posts like this that scare me.....

Mike & Ikes are the #1 choice in our household (from gumball machines) followed by:

Gumballs
Stupid Useless Crap Toys that always end up in my defroster vent on the dashboard
Skittles

I have 3 candy machines 1 at each store and 1 I take to shows.
Peanut M&Ms out sell all other 2:1. Mike and Ike's come in second and Hot tamales a close 3rd. Gum SUCKS! I end up scraping it off the sidewalks and the bottom of my shoes.

Are you looking at getting a candy business going?

Peanut M&Ms

but other than vending machine candy I have to go with BlowPops.

Unfortunately I'm partial to the candy that I make myself. Peanut butter cups. Peppermint patties. Cordial cherries. Peanut brittle. Rock candy. Butter toffee. That's just the short list. That is why they call me Candyman after all.....

I'm a mike & ike fan myself when i comes to those little machines. I remember bein a kid and always bringin my change with me when my mom took me to the bank. If I remmeber correctly they had Mike & Ikes, M&Ms, and chicklets.... yeah, gum sucks! hehe

Yeah I've found a gumball machine or two that doesn't seem badly priced and thought about buying 1-2 and seeing how they turn out. I would like to know what candies people are buying so I know what to put in my machines.

Peanut M&Ms rock. I think M&Ms and gumballs are the only candies I have bought from a machine.

Airheads, sour Skittles, Bit O Honey, Those Dip Stik candies with the 3 different flavored puches, Pop Rocks, sour Starbursts, Abazabba, Jolly Ranchers (the old big ones you could choke on). I don't really like chocolate too much.

Where ya gonna put the machines??

You have to be careful with that... you could find yourself with cement shoes..... No Joke LOL

The same guys that do waste management also have there hands in vending and prostitution LOL

Spoken like a true New Yorker. I lived there my whole life, and you are correct. Also Cigarette vending machines and restaurant knife sharpening. Don't try trucking for the garment district either.

Back to candy....FIREBALLS....Red Hot Fireballs. Candy is secondary to me. I want the charms that come out with the gumballs.

WoodiE should be safe. Indiana.

me
1st red hots
2nd peanut m&ms
3rd boston baked beans
4th mike&ikes

I don't like any processed sugar crap personally. From a general marketing prospective, Hot Tamales and Peanut M&M's are always consistent sellers from what I've seen.. I've got about 4 machines and I really need to start using them again as I was easily paying my combined car insurane with just four machines a month.

The location is key woodie as you probably know and finding a candy or "snack" that sells well to the majority of the customers in a specific area. Also finding one that still gives you a significant profit. The M&M's(especially peanut) will offer less profit IME but always sell well in most anyplace. THe crap like skittles is more appealing to kids but doesn't sell well to adults. The Hot tamales are always the exception to the rule with adults.

Just my two cents from experience.

My kids always go for the Skittles and Peanut M&M's.

One of the service managers at my shop has a double square gumball style machine in the servicemans area. He has Peanut M&M's in one, and Cashews in the other. At the end of the month, he's walkin out with a big sack o quarters... lol :bling:
