Can you reuse rounded wheels and hexes pt1

Surface area of a hex. With the advent of better motors, and batteries, we needed better wheels to handle more stress for longer periods of time.

But I do have to mention the earliest 12mm hex wheels that I used came on my 1986 Kyosho Optima... they (Kyosho) were onto something .

RPM Spline Drive System
At least I think the spline drive system would have been most excellent.

I recall that system and I agree completely!
I wonder if copyright costs vs logical interchangability vs cost to manufacture won out.

I still like RPM products today!

I think a spline system would be a lot tougher to strip out and positive engagement/correct install would be tougher to mess up.

I've not actually run the system though. Did you ever try?

Traxxas uses a spline drive on their 17mm wheels... not sure why it never migrated to the smaller platforms.

I think the Revo wheels are splined actually!
Seems like a good idea. Truck driveshafts have used spline drives for decades. The heaviest pnuematic tools... also use spline drives.
