Can you “DIG” it??

Best way I can describe it. I have an ax10 transmission, bought the axial dig kit. I took the back of the trsnsmission apart and added the dig so its one unit. Some are add ons, some bolt on, and some are one unit. You can also home make a dig.

The dig goes from fully 4wd with a locked center meaning no differential to a fwd truck with the rear locked meaning it does not rotate. It turns it into a civic trying to burn out with the ebrake on.

Doing that allows the front wheels to pull the truck right or left for tight areas.

When I installed it on my truck, I left the front locking part out. I can go from 4wd to rwd depending on terrain. I totally dig this configuration. 🤣🤣

That’s wild. How do you go from 4wd to rwd to front wheel drive??
If you had rear wheel steering; would that eliminate the need for the “dig”??

Watching all these videos I have crawler envy. Liking the Capra and maybe an scx24

As far as I'm concerned and I'm sure everybody will agree with me that has one, the 1/24 scale rigs are awesome.
I run mine on my model train layout. They are small enough to run anywhere and there is a ton of parts available for the SCX24.
If I don't feel like going to the train room then I sit in my recliner and run them around the living room. The couch offers some of the best scenery...;)

Dig just works the back axle. It can be locked in for normal use (matches the front wheels) Set to neutral or free roll. Then locked like a parking brake. It’s main use it for tighter turning radius or front wheel climbs which takes the ass end flipping it over out of the equation. It is not necessary. But does add another level of capabilities for your crawler. Kind of like 4 wheel steering but acts differently. You pivot on the back wheels instead.

Dig was best used on full comp rigs with MOA axles. On my berg, bully and xr10 I ran dual esc's, one for the front one for the rear. That was you have front and rear dig when I would use my 3rd channel to shut the signal off to either esc. DIG is far superior to 4ws.
