Hi I'm thinkin of buying a new buggi i have the ofna pro great offroad buggi but it isnt fast i made it only hit like 45 50 but can you help me pick a faster and light buggi I'm thinkin of spendin 300 350 400 dollars or cheaper if any 1 can help me find this it will be great thank you. :hammer:

Most buggies that are RTR are all going to run within 10mph or so of each other. Some may handle better or have better acceleration though. It seems that the general concenses of the top RTR buggy is the Ofna Hyper 7 series. These are about in the 400.00 range and seem quite capable as a basher and an entry level racer. Plus, they are quite upgradeable to a better engine later on.

To really get into the top end race buggies, you will be looking at price tags around the 1000.00 range.

A buggy won't go much faster then 45-50mph, just because they don't need to for the terrain they ride on. If you want something that will go 65-70 go with some kind of on road vechicle.

Like NA said above the hyper 7 series are great buggies. I have a Hyper 7 pcr it goes about 50 mph and I've only broken one thing on it and I have about 6 gal or so through the chassis.

If you want your buggy to go faster then you might want to change the clutch bell for a larger one. You will not have the low end power as the smaller cb, but the bigger cb you will get more top end.

Vb is correct, however, be careful about over gearing an entry level sport engine with a 17 or 18 tooth bell. It is very easy to overload the engine at low RPM's. Also, make sure not to under gear it too much either as this will cause excessive revs and over heat it. If going with a larger CB, a simple and great mod is to shave the clutch shoes a bit, or install stiffer springs such as the Mugen 1.1mm versions. This will help the clutch from engaging too early and lugging the engine.

Most buggies really don't need the 2 speed unless you are doing a speed contest. Most buggy engines will be able to launch the buggy into high speed depending on the rpm limit and some times the brand....But if you want speed try looking into the engine specs as my MGT TT portted pro 21 engine will outrun a picco 26 but the picco will take me off the line. My MGT Engine just goes into the higher rpms and geared right it will take a lot of abuse.

Food for thought

Jon

I just installed the 2 speed on my X-t delux with the 24.7 and its wicked fast!

WHat weight fluid did you use on your center diff since you did this?
