Ok I'm in the process of breaking in my O.S. V-SPEC, I have gone through 5 P7 plugs and I'm not even half way through break in. The plugs are not mangled, they just wont glow and are white in some spots. Thats 50 bucks in plugs. Can anyone shed some light on whats going on here?

Breakin is hard on plugs, but damn 5 plugs? Wow, something is wrong there. Do you have a temp gun? I still have the same plug I used in breaking in my Wasp .28 and I'm at around 3/4 gallon with it.

I am having sooo many problems with this engine. I have been trying since christmas. I'm sending it back to o.s.

Why aren't you using the recommended P3 plugs? Just curious.

I actually went through like 6 of those.

So you have went thru 5 P7's and 6 P3's and you have only completed half of the break-in process?

What is your break-in process? Needle settings?

i have been having the same problem but i think it is my tuning it is etting to be summer time now so i will have to do a little tuning.

tyler

My needls are stock.
Break in (I'm on 4rd tank)
1)idle
2)idle
3-6) Figure 8,s
6-8) Normal driving
9) Tunning

So to clarify. I have gone through 6 P3's and 1 p7

From what I am hearing, and I could be off but it sounds like you are running 30% fuel with no head shim??? That is what in my experiance it sounds like when you describe your plug???

How many shims does the engine come with? However many that is put that many in and see what happens, clearance issues?
