Brushless DT

I just finished converting my Micro DT to brushless.

I had a lot of trouble sorting out the electronics.

hehe, no offense but the ramminator wheely bar looks sort of goofy on that thing.

Brushless DT's are awesome though. Loads of fun in an itty bitty package.

I'm surprised that you didn't leave the battery in the stock position. I mounted the RX and ESC in the stock location. It helps keep your center of gravity where it originally was. That's what I did when made the conversion on mine.

I was going to but I could not figure out a good way to mount them.

Can anyone tell me if the Raminator and the DT have the same chassis?

I was thinking about converting this one.

I'm not sure, but I think that the Raminator uses the shorter chassis. I used servo tape to mount the RX and ESC after shaving the top of the chassis flush.

But the shock towers, shocks, and A arms would interchange right?

I think I will raise the rear end only.

Raise the rear end only? How so?

I bought raminator tires/wheels/axles for my micro not too after I got it due to the stock tires making it sit so low that it picked up a rediculous amount of fuzz and cat hair after running it a few minutes on the carpet. Then I got bored with the short run time and made a chassis extension so I could run aaa's.

The tires helped raise it, but between the tires and heavy cells, the motor ran hot, so I upgraded to bearings and got a "bb" motor from atomik.

Or... are you talking about raising the rear of the body?

I was thinking that the ram had different suspension than the rest (i have figured that one out), so I will probably put a set of ram rears on and run the chrome dish wheels on the front to give it that Rat Rod look.

I'm pretty sure the suspension is the same between the two. Maybe check the parts explosions from Losi.

So, what are you trying to raise? The rear of the chassis or the body to fit your esc and stuff under there?

I am just raising the chassis for the look. I think it will help the appearance of the wheely bar. The ESC is in the wheely bar.

I like the saddle packs. Do you know of any way to run 2 lipos?

I was at my LHS and saw that one of the guys had a Raminator and was running dual 2s 180mAh LiPo packs in parallel through a home built y-adapter. He had one battery in the stock location and the other was mounted to the rear shock tower.

To help keep the nose down I will add the second behind the first. It will have to wait until I find a matching pair of lipos though.

After I did my conversion, I started getting a little bit of RF interference, so I changed over to Spektrum RX to work with my DX3s. I haven't had any problems since.

I have one of the Micro-T 2S 180 mAh LiPos that I could be persuaded to part with. Let me know.

I had changed from one Losi to another and was changing back when I decided to try another tx and it fixed a lot of problem i was having.
