Hi all, I'm a newbie here, need some help from you guys.
I just got myself a lamborghini Aventador 1:10 with 2.4 GHz and 7.2v battery type (not the drift one) last week. It goes well, but I just want it faster (can't afford the nitro one though).
I was reading something about the brushless motor, which does go faster and consume less battery compare to the stock brushed motor. But as I say that I'm new, so I'm kind of clueless.
So, what do I need to know, and what do I need to buy for this conversion, but remains 7.2v?
Thanks in advance.

is that 70$ car worth another 100$?..and a nimh just wont give a brushless setup enough to justify the expense.and I for 1 have no idea what size motor that rc uses or takes... 380/540? then you will have to gear it correct new spur...

Thanks for your opinion, and i was thinking the same about it. I love the look of the car (can't afford for a real one), and want it faster because of being a Lamborghini, you know what I meant?? That's why i want to know what sort of cost and parts will be involved.
I guess it is using the 540 motor because the car weight 1.4kg, and still had that sort of decent speed. I haven't opened it up the chassis and have a look because I didn't want to mess up anything,

Should I just buy a better brushed motor for it to make it goes faster?

I think any money spent on that would be just throwing it down the drain. You could look at a pan car and put that body on it if that's the body style that you want. But you would have to change your ESC your receiver your motor and your differential in order to get a hobby grade motor to put in that car. Look at the Traxxas 4-tec

I have to agree with @BobP. Sure, the body is beautiful but there's just no way you can go from toy grade to hobby grade with that chassis.

Thanks guys, and BobP, can you provide any link about the pan car, and that Traxxas please?

So, I'm taking the advises from you guys to opt for the proper car, and leave the lamborghini to my son.
However, I just plugged in the new battery today (2000mah) instead of the original 600 mah to let him for a longer play, well, that's what I thought. But what happened next was burn smell and smoke came out of the car. And now, it wouldn't move or response at all.
What exactly has been burnt then?
Can i amend it?
My boy is crying

Sounds like you fried your esc..electronic speed controller. I've been told by some RC people that going to a higher capacity battery, even of the same voltage, can cause the esc to burn out if the esc is cheap(low max amps. I didnt really believe it because the voltage is the same but the bigger one may have had a higher discharge rate.
