Breaking in

I have a force26 to break in what are the best ways to break in. like i've read alot of breaking in things but they're all different. i would like to know what the best steps are to run them in.

I Idle the engine for 5-6 tanks @ 190 degrees.
Then I run the car in a figure 8 or oval, never getting more than 1/2 throttle.
I go on throttle, then off throttle to let it cool a little between 1/2 bursts.
I do this for another 4-6 tanks.
You should be good after that.
During the break in period, I try not to get too far over 200 degrees.
Then lean it out in 1/16 or 1/8 incriments, until you get where you want it.
Keep it as rich as possible, for a few more tanks, but drive it as you normaly would.

Ratzo, do you also put the piston at BDC during cool down in between tanks? I do kind of what you do, but I don't let it idle for more than a tank. I start 1/4 throttle figure 8's on tank two. Then I lean it to get the temps up to 200 from 3 to normally about tank 4, then 1/2 throttle to about tank 8, 3/4 at 12 and short wide open passes at 14. From tanks 10 on up, I start leaning for performance.

In between each tank, I put the piston at BDC and let it cool down to 80 or so.

Seems to work for me. I've broken in about 10 engines this way and I get pretty good life out of all of them (5-8 gallons).

usually your instruction manual will have the best way to break-in.....
