ok so i was breaking in my engine today and my temps were going past 220 on the first tank , i even richened up a little but didnt seem to help. is that normal thast they get up high that quick at half throttle not even, it was about 44 outside .

I don't recall mine going that high that quick with the 18TM. But I was running the stock pipe. The trinity pipe may not have near the back pressure the stock exhaust does. You might have to go pretty rich to compensate.

Or throw the stock pipe on for break-in purposes.

How was it getting it started? Did you have a tough time?

once it was heated it started up just fine , but it ws a cool day so if i didnt heat it up right it wouldnt start . but once heated it was fine , one pull or 2 and thats it , but i need some hotter days it should be better

so if i were to richen it alot will it affect it alot , performance wise

If your breaking in a new motor I would always go back to the stock pipe, espically if its a traxxas. And I find with my trinity I have to run about a turn richer than normal also.

ok so it would be a good idea to go with th stock pipe then , I'm runnong an os 18tm 25% nitro , so after the break in i would go back to trinity and retune for it to be richer or what ?

If I were you id put the stocker pipe on even though its a POS and break in with that. I find that even though it reduceses power it really helps hold a tune and get the results your looking for. Then once you feel breakin is over through on the trinity. Give it a whirle and see what happens. I'm runing mine on a 2.5 so tune is a little differnt. But just guessing youll probally have to richen it up some. Also when running the trinity I find that a higher flow air-filter works better such as the motorsavor. For some reason it just proves to be a great set up, but it makes sence because its like a real car-turck, put a higher flow air filter on, put a higher flow muffler on to let it breath out what it takes in. Well hope this helps a little.

ya i already got the ms filter for awhile now , i'll try putting the traxxas pipe back on for awhile and see what gives

thanks again bryson , very good info, appreciate it
